List of Transformers Movies in Order

Transformers Movies In OrderPin

Do you often wonder what the correct order of Transformers movies is? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Transformers is one of my favorite movies, and I make it a point to watch it every time there’s a new release.

The Transformers Universe is a colossal franchise featuring numerous characters, some of which are robots disguised in the shape of a car, truck, animal, or machine.

The story of Transformers started in 2007 and has evolved through a decade and spanned numerous mediums across multiple continents. From comics to TV shows, movies to computer games, and even a theme park attraction!

If you are a fan of Transformers movies (or have seen the film, and it still entertains you), then here is a list to watch the Transformers movies in Order.

How Many Transformer Movies are there?

There are six movies so far in the Transformers series. The first among the Transformers movies in order of chronology is Bumblebee, released in December 2018, and the next one is 2007 Transformers.

Transformers; Revenge of the Fallen, released in July 2009, is third on this list, followed by Transformers: Dark of the Moon (June 2011), Transformers: Age of Extinction (June 2014), and Transformers: The Last Knight (June 2017).

Bumblebee is a Spin-off movie in the Transformers series and is to be followed by Transformers: Rise of the Beast; it will be released in June 2023 and a prequel with an unknown title in July 2024.

Even though Bumblebee is the last release, it tells a story about a time during the civil war on Cybertron, and it makes perfect sense to begin Binge-watching from there to understand the storyline better.

The Autobots are about to lose the Civil war on Cybertron to the Decepticons, leading Optimus Prime to send a scout B-127 to earth.

A Decepticon attacks B-127 and He defeats him, although He loses His voice-box and has some damage to His memory core.

He transforms into a Volkswagen Beetle in a Junkyard and ends up with 18-year-old Charlie Watson after the Junkyard owner gives Her the car. She befriends Him and calls Him Bumblebee.

Megatron found the All Spark first some years ago but ended up Frozen in ice. Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), a high schooler, buys His first car, and it turns out that the vehicle is the Autobot Bumblebee.

Whereas Sam Witwicky uncovers the Decepticon’s secret plot to use Sentinel Prime to activate the pillars, it will serve as a bridge between Cybertron and Earth.

We are wrapping up our list of Transformers movies in Order of chronology with Transformers: Age Of Extinction, the first installment since the beginning of the series where Shia LaBeouf and many members of the original cast are noticeably absent.

After the Chicago battle, the world sees the Transformers as a significant threat. The Autobots are on the run because of the hunt by a rogue government agency led by Harold Attinger and the cybertronian bounty hunter Lockdown.

A mechanic, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), and His family find Optimus Prime and fix Him up. Together they battle to stop Lockdown, Galvatron (Megatron’s reincarnation), and Cemetery Wind (the rogue CIA black Ops division) from hunting them down.

6. Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

  • IMDb Ratings: 5.2/10
  • Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Hopkins.

The last movie on our list of Transformers movies in Order is Transformers: The Last Knight. The Autobots are still perceived as a threat by humanity, and Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) is assisting them to stay in hiding.

Furthermore, Stories have been told that since King Arthur’s reign, the Transformers have been helping humanity, and the Witwicky’s and their descendants have been protecting them.

During one of King Arthur’s monumental battles, the Transformers gave Merlin His staff to conquer their enemies in battle. Only Merlin or one of His descendants can wield this Staff.

Optimus Prime goes to the remains of Cybertron and encounters Quintessa. She corrupts Him and sends Him on a mission to acquire Merlin’s staff, to enable Her to bring Cybertron back using the Earth’s energy.

Subsequently, Cade, Bumblebee, and the surviving Autobots enlist Vivian Wembley (because She is a descendant of Merlin) and Sir Edmunds to help free Optimus from the control of Quintessa and save the world once again.

This is a list of the live-action Transformers movies in order, and you should check it out if you want to see the story of how we met the Autobots and learned about Cybertron in a logical order.

The most significant problem with the Transformers movies is that they tend to be overly complex and generally confusing. It’s hard to remember where the different subplots occur, who is fighting whom and why, what various characters do for a living, etc.

Also, with so many other characters that have varying degrees of importance to the plot, it can be challenging at times to tell who’s who.

While it may have things you disagree with, this article should give you a better understanding of the Transformers universe. It’s exciting to think that there are still more movies to come (though I have my doubts about some of them).

Hopefully, this article gives you a good story of the Transformers movies in Order so far.
