Tecno and Infinix Prepares to Launch Smartphones With Pop Up Cameras

Transsion Holdings Limited

Transsion Holdings Limited, the owners of Tecno, Infinix, Itel, and Oriamo has decided to step up their game amidst growing competition from the likes of Nokia, Redmi, Huawei, Samsung, and Oppo.

The company also known as King of Africa for its dominance over the African smartphone market has decided to launch smartphones with Pop Up Cameras.

Infinix Mobility is rumored to be the first Transsion brand to launch its pop up camera smartphone before Tecno. The smartphone, as usual, will be launched in the Indian and Chinese market before Nigeria.

According to this report, recently, according to foreign media reports, Infinix will launch a mobile phone with a pop-up selfie lens in February 2020. The price of this phone in India will be less than 10,000 rupees (about 970 yuan, 50000 Naira) . Considering that pop-up camera smartphones are more common in the slightly higher price range, this smartphone will have an advantage over competitors in terms of design. It is reported that shortly after Infinix launches a pop-up selfie phone, TECNO will also launch a pop-up selfie phone with a price of less than Rs 10,000.

Transsion Holdings have faced a lot of competition last year that they released phones with AMOLED screens (Tecno Phantom 9 and Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus), In-display Fingerprint (Tecno Camon 12 Pro) and also punch hole camera (Infinix S5 Lite, Tecno Camon 12 Air). Also, one will also figure that that is the reason they ditched most of the 1GB version of their smartphones.

The pop-up camera is the handwork of Oppo smartphones, a new competitor in the Nigerian market. Though their phones are usually a bit pricey for Nigerians who are trying to recover from the recession.

The report also stated that that the new Infinix smartphone will use MediaTek processors and will launch a new phone series with the release of this phone.

Infinix last released the S4 series in November last year. They came with 6.6 inch display, 64GB storage space, 4 GB of RAM and octa-core processor
