Peter Okoye together with his twin brother Paul Okoye, were born on the 18th of Nov 1981 in Jos, Plateau state. Peter Okoye is originally from Ifite Dunu, Anambra State in the eastern region of Nigeria.

Apart from his twin, he has an elder brother whose name is Jude Okoye.

Peter’s childhood days were spent in Jos, where he completed his primary education. Peter and his twin Paul attended St. Murumba secondary school, which happens to be a small Catholic school in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria.

During the secondary education,Peter and Paul were known to joined their school music and drama club where they became very active members and started singing, dancing, and mimicking songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson. They formed a group and went around performing in other schools during their function days.

After Peter’s secondary education, he and his twin later went to music school in 1999. This was in order to develop skills in keyboard playing, drums, bass and rhythm guitar.

Their work included some soundtracks in movies such as Tobi, Mama Sunday, Moment of Bitterness and Evas River.

However Peter, during that same year 1999, got admission to study Business Administration in the University of Abuja. Where he completed his tertiary education.

Peter Okoye career cannot be complete without starting from his defunct group “P-SQUARE” which was made up by Peter and his twin Paul.

Peter together with his twin started performing in the early 2000s as P-Square. The group was managed by Bayo Odusami otherwise know as Howie T, a seasoned concert promoter and the CEO of Adrot Nigeria Limited.

In 2001, the group won the “Grab Da Mic” competition, this achievement caused the Benson & Hedges to sponsor their debut album, titled Last Nite, which was released under Timbuk2 music label.

P-Square became famous due to their good music and was nominated as “Most Promising African Group” in the Kora Awards three months after the release of their debut album. They eventually won the 2003 Amen Award for “Best R&B Group”.

In 2005, the group brought out their second album, “Get Squared” under their own label, Square Records. This album was marketed all over Nigeria by TJoe Enterprises. Meanwhile, having created their own label, they were still managed by Howie T of Adrot Nigeria Limited.

The video for the second album secured the first position on the MTV Base chart for four straight weeks.The group also performed with outstanding artists such as; Ginuwine and Sean Paul, Akon.

in 2007, Peter and his twin brought out their outstanding or you can say best selling album during that period known as “Game Over”, which sold 8 million copies worldwide.

In 2009, P-Square brought out their fourth studio album, Danger. The album features collaborations with 2baba, J Martins and Frenzy.

The first single called “Danger” is a hip hop song with cutting electronic sound synthesizers and a frog bass baseline which is almost the same to an Eminem song.

The video displays this with the presence of clowns and staggered movements in front of the camera in resemblance of comedy videos by Eminem.

Apart from their good taste of music, they are also known for the similar likeness which the twins have to American R&B singer, Usher Raymond.

On 29 August 2014, Peter’s group brought out a single track featuring a top American Artist T.I. which the group named “EjeAjo”.

This track was produced and co-written by VTEK. However, EjeAjo official video featuring T.I was also released on August in 2014 on both TV stations, Radio Stations and Web blogs. On September 2014 Peter defunct group released their 6th studio album titled Double Trouble.

On the 8th October 2015, Peters defunct group was given Range Rover SUVs from Globacom as they were appointed as Glo Ambassadors during their sponsorship of the “DanceWithPeter TV Radio entertainment programme”.

The programme paved the way for a lot of dancers from around the world to showcase their talents for prizes.

“Nothing lasts forever” as they said, became the news of the day as issues were arising in the group such as; the differences in the opinion regarding what Peter perceived as a partiality in individual input of songs which was getting featured on their joint albums with his twin getting a large piece of the cake of his songs selected.

This made Peter refuse to do anything in the group for weeks. After a while, Peter relocated taking his family from the mansion he shared with his twin over the years and housed their extended family in. However, a lawyer had to be involved to help split their fortune as they were both fused in joint ventures over the years.

Unfortunately, On the 24th of February, 2016 there were News of how Globacom decided not to renew its Ambassadorship deal with the duo, while renewing the contract with other Ambassadors hit the air.

This was as a due to the fallout between the company’s representatives and Peter Okoye during the grand finale of the Dance with Peter talent hunt show.

After the disbandment, Peter Okoye has so far recorded several amazing hit songs such as; Look into my eyes, one more night, for my head among others.

He has also secured a few profitable endorsement deals since he went solo. For example, Peter got a juicy deal with the German famous sportswear company, Adidas.

Another deal of his that now brings him extra bar is the dairy company “Olympic Milk”. “Old habits never dies” they said, caused Peter to start his own dancing show “Glo Dance with Peter”.

Mr. P is also became a brand ambassador for the KIA Motors Nigeria company, which also turned out to be very lucrative for him.

However, it was revealed that Peter lately signed a partnership deal with the American distribution company “Empire”, as well as the record label which is sited in San Francisco, California.
