He was born on March 23, 1994, in Nigeria’s Osun State. Mayorkun is the first child of the Adewale family accompanied by two other brothers.
Mayorkun’s father, Sunday Adewale, who is now late, was a musical artist and film producer, while Mayorkun’s Mother, Toyin Adewale, is a Nigerian film actor (Nollywood actress).
Mayorkun grew up in his hometown, where he attended elementary and high school, and as a young man, he was part of his church choir team.
After finishing high school, Mayorkun proceeded to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he obtained a degree in accounting.

After graduating from college, Mayorkun worked as a banker before DMW boss Davido saw him in the cover video he recorded for one of Davido’s songs, “the Money,” where he hired the boss’s help from YBNL, Olamide.
Mayorkun has not previously pursued music as a professional career. Although he already had several songs he had written before.
Later that day, Davido called Mayorkun if he could do more than playing the piano/keyboard, and Mayorkun informed him that he was also a musical artist and that he could sing very well. This prompted the DMW boss to sign Mayorkun on the DMW file, and the same day, Mayorkun resigned from the bank where he works.
In April 2016, Mayorkun released his first song in the studio on the DMW label titled “Eleko.” The song went viral across the country, and the video reached over 10 million YouTube feeds within ten days of its release, which triggered Mayorkun net worth.
