Magic Shows on NetflixPin

Are you looking for magic shows on Netflix? Well, your search is over. This is a list of the current top shows on Netflix. It includes full-length magic shows that are streaming now!

Like any other entertainment medium, Netflix has become flooded with magic shows of various quality.

But what are the best magic shows on Netflix? There are some gems out there that you need to check out immediately.

This article will discover the top 25 magic shows on Netflix with as much helpful information as you need.

1. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

For our no.1 spot on our list of Magic shows on Netflix, the series begins just before Sabrina’s sixteenth birthday, which will not be marked by a traditional celebration but by an ancient tradition: a Dark Baptism under a Blood Moon, where Sabrina pledges her soul to the Dark Lord. Except Sabrina isn’t so sure that’s what she wants.

She is only half a witch (on her father’s side) and has spent her entire life living at home with witches and going to school with mortals.

But this baptism, and if she is willing to commit to the Dark Lord, is only the beginning of Sabrina’s adventures, not the end of hers, as she finds a way to honor her mortal and supernatural heritage.

Ultimately, it’s a pleasure and an obsession, and the scariest thing is how good it is—the cast: Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, and Chance Perdomo.

2. The Shannara Chronicles

Based on Terry Brooks’s Sword of Shannara trilogy books, The Shannara Chronicles is the closest thing to a fantasy RPG adaptation on television.

The series follows Wil Ohmsford, half-human/half-elf, who is destined to save the Four Lands from the return of the demons banished in the Forbidden.

He travels with an elven princess, a robust rover, and a mighty druid as they take on warlocks, trolls, dwarves, and more.

But as Wil learns to wield the magical Elfstones passed down to him as Shannara, the politics of the Four Lands begin to interrupt his mission to repel the demon horde—the cast: Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett.

This series is far from perfect, but it’s fun, engaging, and committed to world-building (the practical effects and costumes are particularly impressive).

As the story matures, the cast improves quite a bit between the first and second (last) seasons.

3. Stranger Things

Stranger Things appeared almost out of nowhere as a new Netflix original series that garnered little attention around its pre-release.

But the ’80s-set mystery cliff-hanger is equal parts It, Stand by The Goonies and Me, as it combines the chilling atmosphere of a Stephen King novel with compelling characters and a strong narrative drive.

The real test of Stranger Things is whether the show works without the nostalgic ’80s backdrop, and the answer is yes.

There’s government mystery, surprising effects, and, most importantly, memorable characters that are a joy to watch.

Creators, writers, and directors Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer make each season feel like one long movie divided into chapters.

Given that it’s news TV rather than episodic TV, one could easily watch a season in one day without feeling like it’s stretching out or reaching a simple “breaking point,” making it a delicious binge.

The cast: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine. A member of our top spot on our list of magic shows on Netflix.

4. Magic for Humans: Spain

Netflix Magic for Humans: Spain is a Spanish adaptation of the popular Netflix magician special. Follow the magician Antonio Díaz around Barcelona. It’s similar to the original series, and watching these kinds of magic tricks and illusions is enjoyable.

5. The Witcher

Henry Cavill directs this fantasy epic based on a bestselling book series and a popular video game franchise. Expectations are high but exceeded by Cavill, who plays a mutated monster hunter named Geralt.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich detailed the changes she’s made from page to page, introducing key characters like the sorceress Yennefer and Princess Destiny Ciri from the start and changes that take this show to the next level.

It’s a mix of police investigation and Lord of the Rings-style adventure. You will love it.

6. Cursed

Frank Miller created this series based on a best-selling YA fantasy book. Catherine Langford plays Nimue, a powerful young woman (with a mysterious gift) who eventually becomes the legendary Lady of the Lake in the original King Arthur legend.

But first, she must play a vital role in the fight against the terrifying Red Paladins that are destroying the kingdom, and for this, she will need the help of a chosen mercenary and Merlin. Highly recommended from our list of Magic shows on Netflix.

7. Merlin

This fantasy adventure reimagines the classic Arthurian legend with a younger cast from the folks at the BBC.

It’s an origin story for Merlin (Colin Morgan), a sorcerer’s apprentice who travels to Camelot to study magic before realizing the king has banned the practice.

Still secretly learning, he eventually befriends the future King Arthur (Bradley James), an arrogant, bratty brat who seems to be becoming a decent human being thanks to Merlin’s friendship.

The show predominantly revolves around their bromance and how often Merlin is forced to use his magic to save Arthur’s life.

Still, some of the legend’s best-known characters, such as Lancelot, Guinevere, and Morgana, also play a role. Is there a list of Magic shows on Netflix without Merlin?

8. Sense8

Eight strangers worldwide discover psychically connected and experience what the other seven feel. This strange but promising premise comes from the Wachowskis (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas).

It creatively mixes an exciting cast and spawns many intriguing and unexpected developments.

Despite the convoluted plot, the fan base grew to a cult following during the first two production seasons. The show was unexpectedly canceled after those two seasons.

Still, public outcry from the show’s massive fanbase led to an upcoming two-hour Netflix original movie greenlit in 2018 to fill in the show’s storylines.

This feature film premiered on June 8, 2018, to close the show and is now streaming. It is highly recommended on our list of magic shows on Netflix.

9. Arrow

From Greg Berlanti, Arrow is one of his most substantial offerings. Wealthy son Oliver Queen returns home with incredible archery skills and a desire to fight crime, and in many ways, he represents a little Batman.

Arrow has all the makings of a great binge, from a brooding lead to colorful, dramatic plotlines and hilarious supporting characters that steal the show.

Seven seasons, including the final season, are currently streaming on Netflix. Magic meets Superhero had to make our list of Magic shows on Netflix.

10. Black Mirror

This show is set in the not-too-distant future. The series explores our paranoia, our modern society, and how the future of technology could lead us down terrifying paths.

Most of the show is not to be taken lightly, usually with a sense of cynicism and dark satire.

Still, a few episodes of “San Junipero,” in particular, highlight its happy endings in a way that belies expectations.

If you are a science fiction or anthology series fan, Black Mirror will make you fall in love.

11. Disenchantment

Disenchantment is an animated comedy series set in the wonders of the Middle Ages.

This is no. 11 on our list of Magic shows on Netflix. It premiered in August this year with a 10-episode first season.

Bean is an irresponsible and alcoholic princess from the Kingdom of Dreamland who gets into constant trouble with her father, the king.

An all-star voice cast includes Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, Abbi Jacobson, Futurama alumni John DiMaggio, Billy West, David Herman, Tress MacNeille, and Maurice LaMarche.

12. The Dragon Prince

Sitting comfy at no. 12 on our list of Magic shows on Netflix, The Dragon Prince is an original fantasy tale designed by Aaron Ehasz to fill the same family-comedy-action void Avatar created 15 years ago.

Set in a fantasy world where humans and elves are at war, the story begins when the elves attempt to assassinate the human king Harrow and his heir, the young prince Ezran, in exchange for the human assassination of the dragon king and his egg for revenge.

When young elf Rayla, along with Ezran and Callum, discover that the dragon king’s egg has not been destroyed, they attempt to return the egg to the dragons to prevent a war, only to be challenged by Viren, a mage intent on starting a war, a conflict with the elves.

Despite a controversial animation style, the show proved popular, and three seasons are currently airing.

13. The Originals

By Julie Plec, The Mikaelsons move to New Orleans and ally with the local witches to rule the city again in Julie Plec’s spinoff, The Vampire Diaries.

Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) is the original vampire-werewolf hybrid who, along with his brother and sister Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt), returns to his hometown of New Orleans after a century in exile.

Also, in the French Quarter, pregnant werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) looks for clues about her family history.

Klaus’ rival and protégé is Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), the vampire who has taken over in Klaus’s absence.

Although I prefer the magic effects and VFX on the vampire diaries, this list of Magic shows on Netflix would be incomplete without the powerful Klaus.

14. Outlander

Outlander leans more toward historical drama and romance than the magical genre, but it relies on an essential element of fantasy: the ability to move through time.

Caitriona Balfe stars as Claire, a World War II nurse who, after visiting mystical monoliths, is transported back to 1743 and falls in love with rebellious mountain man Jamie Fraser.

But that’s just the beginning of an epic journey that will take the Frasers from continent to continent and era to era in a sprawling drama inspired by author Diana Gabaldon’s popular book series.

Perhaps you’re swooning over one of the sexiest, truly erotic romances on television or stressed to death by the world’s endless socio-political events that threaten to tear you apart;

Outlander is an incredible marathon that will stir hearts and minds alike. The cast includes Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Duncan Lacroix, and Sophie Skelton.

15. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

It’s hard to overstate The Dark Crystal’s incredibleness: Age is resistance. You do not have to be very familiar with the original Jim Henson movie, which created a cult following in 1982.

Still, it certainly helps to understand what’s happening in this prequel series.

However, you could blindly jump into the magic shows on Netflix and still appreciate the strong fantasy story, incredible production value, and the world’s greatest puppeteers plying their trade in one of the best suspensions of disbelief ever seen on television.

Cast: Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Simon Pegg, Mark Hamill, Jason Isaacs, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

But suppose you need a little plot nugget to get you started. In that case, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance essentially sees the Gelflings as elves transcending their tribal differences to escape the oppressive rule of the rogue and reptilian Skeksis.

16. Shadow and Bone

Shadow and Bone make it one of the top magic shows on Netflix; loosely Based on the first novel in Leigh Bardugo’s “Grisha” trilogy, the eight-episode Netflix series premieres April 23.

Orphaned Alina Starkov, residing in the Russian-inspired kingdom of Ravka, discovers that she has the rare power to summon light, an ability only possessed by people known as Grisha.

However, she didn’t expect to hear the word “magic” on the show. The Grisha call their energy manipulation powers Small Science.

Due to her powerful abilities, Alina must beware of Ravka’s enemies and the hidden agenda of the Grisha leader with the sinister name Darkling.

17. Warrior Nun

The story follows a secret group of female warriors who worked for the Catholic Church and protected the world from demons and other evil forces.

When the group leader dies in a bitter battle, a new warrior draws power from a divine artifact within a girl in the morgue that the church believed had previously taken her own life.

However, the forces representing heaven and hell want to stop them, and a supernatural being wants them back.

18. Castlevania

When Lisa Tepes, the lovely wife of Vlad Tepes, aka Dracula, is accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake by an overzealous bishop, Dracula declares war on the people of Wallachia.

It unleashes an army of murderous demonic creatures from Hell. Fortunately, Trevor Belmont, the last survivor of the Belmont clan, a disgraced family known for hunting all kinds of monsters, is still in town and agrees to fight the vampire lord. Castlevania gets on the list of magic shows on Netflix for my vampire lovers.

19. Lucifer

Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is a fun-loving demon straight out of hell who runs a nightclub in Los Angeles and loves helping the LA Police Department.

However, it’s not long before he’s getting involved with the local police and (this is where the fun comes in) helping them solve fiendishly complicated criminal cases.

20. The Order

The Order is one of the most popular fantasy series on Netflix. It features a group of demons, secret magical societies, and dark family secrets. And yes, it also has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes to prove it.

The story follows Jack Morton (Jake Manley) as he joins a legendary secret society, the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose, to avenge his mother’s death.

He is summarily thrust into a world of magic, monsters, and intrigue and finds himself in a deadly underground battle between werewolves and wizards. How do you do it?

Add a web of dark family secrets to unravel, and you have enough to keep you hooked for hours. Highly recommended on our list of magic shows on Netflix.

21. Avatar: The Last Airbender

This Nickelodeon show has been hailed as one of the best-animated series ever for a good reason.

Maybe you were part of the generation obsessed with it in the early days, or perhaps you haven’t yet delved into this world of elemental nations.

Still, there’s never a wrong time to see or revisit this impressive Western gathering—an anime-style series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an adventure story that follows the quest of the water bender Katara, her brother Sokka, and a boy named Aang, whom they find frozen in an iceberg, who ends up being the Avatar, a reborn being who controls all their The task of the four elements is to maintain a harmonious balance between the four nations.

Furthermore, As they travel through the nations to allow Aang to master all the elements and ultimately confront the Fire Nation’s totalitarian leader, the devastating magnitude of the world in Aang’s absence becomes increasingly apparent.

Please make no mistake, there’s a lot more to this kids‘ show than you might expect, but Avatar: The Last Airbender makes it look so easy it’s like floating on air.

22. Dark

This intriguing series from the streaming platform is pretty impressive, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching.

Dark is a German time-travel thriller about four families whose dark past is quickly revealed when a handful of children in their small town begin to go missing.

It fell for marketing that called it “German weird stuff” simply because of the presence of missing persons, and it’s partially set in the ’80s.

Still, that cheap comparison undermines its legitimacy as a haunting and profoundly watchable series.

23. Destiny: The Winx Saga

In Fate: The Winx Saga, a fire fairy named Bloom enrolls in the magical boarding school Alfea College in the Otherworld.

She befriends Stella (a light fairy), Musa (a mind fairy), Terra (an earth fairy), and Aisha (a water fairy). It is here that Bloom begins to unravel the past.

However, she has to grow up fast when creatures called the Burned Ones begin to attack the campus, and Bloom may be the person needed to save the Otherworld.

24. Locke & Key

Locke & Key tells the story of the Locke family after the patriarch is murdered by one of his students.

The family moves into the legendary Key House, but soon, the three children discover that the house is full of secrets.

Some keys can open doors that lead to great powers or unexpected places. However, a demon under the house also wants the keys for himself.

25. The OA

Finally, on our list of magic shows on Netflix. The OA- After being blinded as a child during a near-death experience, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling) is raised by a Midwestern couple (Scott Wilson and Alice Krige) until she mysteriously disappears for seven years.

When she returns, she can see, but Prairie can not tell anyone how she got her sight back or where she has been.

Consequently, Prairie enlists a neighborhood group consisting of a teacher and four high school students to participate in an experiment that cannot be described without serious spoilers.

I will say that not only was she missing for seven years, but she was kidnapped by Hap (Jason Isaacs), a doctor who was experimenting on people who had had near-death experiences.

As the season progresses, the wacky story draws you in with slow-paced suspense that’s mostly worth it. Two seasons aired, but the show was canceled in 2019.

Ultimately, Netflix has many great shows offering various types of magic. The best presentations are as unique and innovative as the magicians themselves.

Netflix satisfies magic show enthusiasts and provides entertainment for people who are not interested in watching magic shows. Overall, Netflix offers great content for anyone to enjoy.
