Ini Edo was born on the 23rd of April, 1982. She is an Ibibio by tribe and hails from Akwa Ibom state in the Southern region of Nigeria. She is the second child of four siblings and was raised by discipline parents.

After Ini Edo completed her primary education, she went to Cornelia Connelly College, Afaha Oku in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state to further her high school education.

After her high school education, she attended University of Uyo where she obtained a Diploma in Theatre Arts. Ini Edo went ahead to complete her bachelor’s degree program at the University of Calabar, where she majored in English.

In 2014, Ini Edo was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of a scholarship program which enable her to study law at National Open University of Nigeria.

In 2000, Ini Edo joined the Nigerian movie industry after graduating from University and in 2003 she made her firs cameo appearance in the movie ‘Thick Madam’.

In 2004, Ini Edo came into the spotlight after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “World Apart” alongside with Kenneth Okonkwo and Lis Benson.

Ini Edo has starred in more than 200 Nollywood movies which include World Apart, Thick Madam, Royal Gift, Blind Kingdom, Ghetto Queen, Power of Beauty, Fatal Seduction,The Greatest Sacrifice, My Heart Your Home, No Where to Run and many more.

In 2010, Ini Edo was appointed as the brand ambassador of noble hair and brand ambassador of Slim Tea Nigeria.

In 2013, Ini Edo was chosen as judge for the Miss Black Africa United Kingdom Beauty Pageant. Ini Edo is also into philanthropy which paved the way for United Nations to appoint her as the United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy.
