Are you being annoyed by people continually adding you into a random WhatsApp group? Are you looking for a way to prevent it, then this article is for you. That’s right; there’s a way you can prevent people from adding you to unnecessary groups with annoying notifications.
Facebook child, WhatsApp is known as the most popular instant messaging app available on mobile and PC. Even as it is labelled an accessible mode of communication, it also comes with a feature that can be annoying. “WhatsApp Groups” invites can be avoided using the privacy settings on the app.
While the Privacy Controls/Settings in WhatsApp cannot allow you to block a group directly, it, however, gives you the power to prevent other WhatsApp users from adding you to a group without your permission.
How to Stop People From Adding You to WhatsApp Groups
Below are the few steps you can follow to prevent people from adding you to a WhatsApp group:
- Launch WhatsApp on your device
- Next, go to the Settings tab, click on the Accounts tab
- While in the Account section, click on Privacy
- Then tap on Groups, in the Group section, you will see three options (Everyone, My Contacts, and Nobody).
- Select based on your preference and click Done.
That is it; group invites will now be on your preference.
Note: Selecting the “Everyone” option means you can receive group invites from anyone. While selecting the “My Contacts” option means only your contacts can add you to a Group and selecting the “Nobody” option means nobody can add you to a WhatsApp group.
I hope these steps above help you to take control and curb that unwanted WhatsApp Group invites and endless message notifications that keep coming up every time.
