Every year, during the festive season, I look for animated Christmas movies. I love watching them on Netflix or the Disney Channel.
There are so many out there. You could spend hours upon hours (and days upon days if you were to add in the Christmas Specials) with these animated movies and not be bored.
I’ve made a list of Christmas movies from my past four years of writing this blog to help you choose which animated Christmas movies to watch this holiday season.
1. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Not everyone is in a holly, happy Christmas mood. If the holidays make you feel depressed, look forward to having fun with Charlie Brown, who is on a profound journey to discover the true meaning of Christmas.
The song, by composer Vince Guaraldi, should also be heard at this time of year. Specials will be broadcast on PBS and PBS Kids this year, or you can broadcast on Apple TV +.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is an animated Christmas movie that features the voices of Christopher Shea, Kathy Steinberg, Tracy Stratford, Bill Melendez, Ann Altieri, and Chris Doran. The film was directed by Bill Melendez and released in 1965.
2. Robin Robin (2021)
This holiday special, about a bird raised by mice who aspires to be a real mouse, has a cozy feeling, which is audible in its standing cartoon.
Her disparity becomes evident when they try to sneak into Who-Man’s apartment.
Now, she rides bravely to steal the shiny star and show his family and the cruel cat that she can be an excellent mouse.
Starring are voice actors Bronte Carmichael, Richard E. Grant, and Gillian Anderson; it was released on Netflix on November 24th. Robin Robin is another animated Christmas movie directed by Dan Ojari and Mikey Please.
3. Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas (2021)
Get ready to be thrilled by one of the latest animated Christmas movies by Director Steve Cox, starring Justin Fletcher as the voice of Shaun and John Sparkes as the farmer’s voice.
Shaun’s excitement of the season turns to disappointment when a farmhouse attack to get more herd socks results in Timmy’s loss.
Can Shaun bring Timmy back before he becomes someone else’s gift? Get ready for a ‘Santastic’ adventure as everyone learns the true significance of Christmas!
4. Duck the Halls (2016)
Mickey Mouse Christmas Special (2016) is a Christmas Animated story of a very bad Christmas.
In this special case, Donal Duck has never had a Christmas experience and chooses to stay during the winter months rather than fly south like some duck brothers.
Duck the Halls was directed by Alonso Ramirez Ramos and stars Chris Diamantopoulos, Tony Anselmo, Bill Farmer, Russi Taylor, and Tress MacNeille as voice casts.
5. A Trash Truck Christmas (2020)
When Santa crashes in the yard the night before Christmas, Hank, Trash Truck and their pet friends help save the holiday for everyone.
A Trash Truck Christmas is one of the most exciting animated movies you can see with your loved ones during the holidays.
Eddie Rosa directed Trash Truck Christmas, which stars Henry Keane, Glen Keane, Lucas Neff, and Brian Baumgartner.
6. Klaus (2019)
An animated Christmas-directed movie by Sergio Pablo on his directorial debut, Klaus tells the story of a postman who was the worst student at an academy.
The postman is sent to a frozen town north, where he finds a sequestered toymaker called Klaus.
Klaus features the voices of Jason Schwartzman, J. K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, Will Sasso, Neda Margrethe Labba, Sergio Pablos, and Norm Macdonald.
7. DreamWorks’ Home for the Holidays (2017)
Do you want to make the Christmas holiday enjoyable for your kids? Then DreamWorks’ Home for the Holidays is the right movie to see with your kids.
Directed by Blake Lemons and starring Kelly Clarkson, Ryan Crego, Rachel Crow, and Kelly Donohue, the movie is all about Tip, Boov, and all those trying to find out the true meaning of Christmas via the device of the holiday special, which goes astronomically wrong before everyone gets together to make things right.
8. Spirit Riding Free: Spirit of Christmas (2019)
Lucky and his friends must figure out how to get home in time for Christmas when a falling boulder – and a violent snowstorm – disrupt their travel plans.
It stars Amber Frank and Bailey Gambertoglio, with Allan Jacobsen and Kevin Wotton as directors.
9. Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holidays (2012)
Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang attend a holiday parade and find a deserted, haunted tower with a troubled past.
The spooky snowman haunts the streets, and a big snowstorm follows, threatening to shut down the toy shop for good.

10. How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (2019)
Hiccup and Toothless unite to remind their two species of the unbreakable bond between Vikings and dragons.

11. The Polar Express (2004)

The film revolves around a teenager who, skeptical about the existence of Santa Claus, embarks on a magical train ride to discover more about the North Pole.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Polar Express stars Tom Hanks, Daryl Sabara, and Nona Gaye. Tom Hanks also directed the movie.
12. The Snowman And The Snowdog (2012)

Hilary Audus directed The Snowman and the Snowdog, which is among the best animated Christmas movies to watch during the Christmas celebration.
13. Trolls Holiday (2017)
Poppy, the troll queen, discovers that her closest friend, Bridget, a Bergener, has no holidays on her calendar.
Poppy, Branch, and the Snack Pack board the Caterbus Express to Bergen Town to prove how fun partying can be.
Joel Crawford directed Trolls Holiday, which started with Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, James Corden, and Ron Funches.
14. Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer (2018)
When Blitzen abruptly announces his retirement, Santa Claus has to find a replacement. Against all difficulties, Elliot and his best friend Hazel embark on a quest to prove he’s the horse for the job.
When Elliot and Hazel embark on the North Pole reindeer trials, Hazel discovers that Christmas as we know it could be headed for destruction. Meanwhile, on the farm, a frightening woman threatens her friends’ lives, and Elliot faces the toughest decision of his life.
Another animated Christmas movie directed by Jennifer Wescott and stars Josh Hutcherson, Samantha Bee, Martin Short, Morena Baccarin, and Jeff Dunham.
15. The Star (2017)
For something more spiritual bent, this film tells the story of a donkey named Bo, a sheep named Ruth, and a dove named Dave, all longing for something more in their lives.
But the adventure that draws them closer also puts them on the path to crossing paths with the first crib.
The Star is a fun-filled animated Christmas movie directed by Timothy Reckart and starring Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Animated Christmas movies are the movies of the season. They are beyond amazing and make you want to watch them every year.
The music, color schemes, and graphics are outstanding, and they put you in the Christmas spirit and make you happy.
