We’ll talk about video game characters that start with A today. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot of them!
I’m going to go over some of my favorite A-named video game characters, which should hopefully make you feel less alone if you also have an A name.
1. Abe (Oddworld)
First on our list of video game characters that start with A is Abe. He is a Mudokon rescued from RuptureFarms by the player character and the main protagonist of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and its sequel Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus. He is also the protagonist of the upcoming game Oddworld: Soulstorm.
In Abe’s past life, he was a programmer at RuptureFarms, but when he discovered their plans for his species, he became an activist against them.
After being captured for his efforts, he escaped with several other enslaved people and found himself on board a flying ship that crashed onto another planet inhabited by bad guys with even worse intentions than those behind RuptureFarms! You can play as this guy in two great games (Abe’s Oddysee and Exoddus).
2. Adam Jensen (Eidos Montréal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided )
Adam Jensen is a fictional character and the protagonist of Square Enix’s Deus Ex series. He was developed by Eidos Montréal, which took over the development of the series after Square Enix acquired them in 2009.
In 2027, Jensen works for Sarif Industries as the head of its security team but is critically injured by a bomb blast during an attack on the company’s facility in Detroit, Michigan. This is another great addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
His employers and recovery save him through extensive use of advanced prosthetics called cybernetics to replace lost limbs and organs with mechanical parts.
He later becomes involved in stopping various conspiracies involving artificial intelligence technologies developed at Sarif Industries, including one masterminded by an international terrorist organization known as Task Force 29 (TF29).
3. Adon (Street Fighter)
Adon is a fictional character from the Street Fighter fighting game franchise by Capcom. He first appeared in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior and has since been featured as a playable character in various updates (Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Street Fighter IV).
Adon has amazing physical abilities, earning him the nickname “God’s Hand.” He uses these skills to defeat many opponents. Adon will be one of the characters featured in Street Fighter V.
In his ending in SF2: Turbo Hyper Fighting, he accidentally loses control and transforms into of control monster called God Hand due to his Master’s forbidden teachings being too powerful for him.
Like M Bison, this version of Adon had no red hair or ponytail but looked identical. The image was later used for an alternate costume in SSFIVAE and CvS2, where it was his super move instead of his special moves (Tiger Destruction).
4. Akuma (Street Fighter)
Akuma is a character in the Street Fighter series of fighting games. He’s a demon-like fighter with a dark purple gi and long, black hair.
Akuma uses powerful attacks that can easily knock out opponents, but he has to sacrifice something in return for his power.
If you’re unfamiliar with Street Fighter, it might sound like many mumbo jumbos (and you’d be right). But basically, what we’re saying here is: don’t mess around with this guy unless you have your health bar fully stocked up!
Akuma’s abilities include being able to teleport around the battlefield at will, which makes him tricky for players who aren’t used to battle royale games like Fortnite or Apex Legends.
He can also perform several different combos that deal massive amounts of damage to enemies if they aren’t careful enough when facing off against him during combat situations such as these.
Where players must work together before moving onto another area where they encounter more bad guys who want nothing more than to see us dead immediately so they can take our lives instead.
Especially when there is millions worth of gold coins hidden somewhere close by, waiting patiently until someone finds them first so they could use them some other day during another time period rather than right now. So this is another good addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
Today underneath these trees over here next door across town somewhere else far away near any distance away from me but still close enough nearby if only someone were willing enough brave courageous daring bravely courageous readiness preparedness strong confidence bravery courageous intrepidness determination fortitude.
5. Alex (Street Fighter)
Alex is a character from the Street Fighter series of fighting games by Capcom. He is a British boxer from Liverpool, England, who fights using an aggressive, brawling style and is known for his powerful hurricane kicks.
Alex first appeared in Street Fighter III: New Generation as one of five new characters (the other four being Elena, Sean, Hugo, and Urien).
He later appeared in other titles such as Street Fighter IV and its updates/ports (including Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition) and various crossover games such as Project X Zone 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.
Alex has been noted for his fast mobility thanks to his use of rolls which allow him to quickly evade his opponent’s attacks while at the same time allowing him to get closer so he can start attacking them with his moves, including some boxing punches or kicks that can be used up close during these rolls.
Additionally, he can utilize these rolls along with several other special moves, such as running toward opponents after jumping into the air leaving behind an explosion upon impact before landing back onto solid ground again.
Another useful tool at Alex’s disposal is his ability “Overhead Kick,” which allows him to throw two consecutive high kicks followed immediately by another two more if timed properly.
6. Alex Hunter (FIFA)
Next on our list of video game characters that start with A is Alex Hunter. He is a fictional character in the FIFA series of video games. He is the star of the story mode, The Journey, which is available in “FIFA 17”.
It is an interactive story where you play as Alex Hunter and make decisions that determine what happens next.
In The Journey, Alex Hunter is a young footballer who has just been promoted to the Premier League with West Ham United.
He has to decide how to deal with certain situations and people around him as he tries to become a better player. Alex’s story continues in “FIFA 18” with him trying to be promoted again, this time with Everton F.C.
7. Alistair (Dragon Age)
Alistair is a human noble from Ferelden. He is a potential companion in Dragon Age: Origins and the son of Maric Therein and Rowan Guerrin.
Alistair was born to King Maric Therein and Queen Rowan of Ferelden. However, he never knew his father well, as he was sent away to be fostered at an early age by Arl Rendon Howe (under orders from Loghain Mac Tir) due to his illegitimacy.
After spending five years as a ward of House Cousland, Alistair ran away from Highever with Duncan’s party at age 14.
They became best friends before eventually being sent on their separate missions while serving under Amell’s banner during the Fifth Blight in 9:30 Dragon Age.
8. Alucard (Castlevania)
Alucard is a dhampir, which means that he’s half-vampire and half-human. In addition to being a vampire hunter in the Castlevania series, Alucard is also Dracula’s son and was born to Lisa, who was human.
Alucard first appeared in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and has since become a playable character in most other games featuring him.
He is often considered the strongest member of the Belmont family; he has many superhuman abilities like telepathy, shape-shifting into animals such as bats or wolves, and sucking blood from enemies to regain health (among others).
9. Anders (Dragon Age)
Anders is a mage and former Templar with a sarcastic sense of humor. He is also a romance option for male and female players.
During his time as a Grey Warden, he became disillusioned with the Circle system and joined the Templars to help protect mages from themselves.
When you first meet him in Dragon Age: Origins, he’ll have already joined your party as part of Jowan’s quest in Amaranthine (you can find out more about him in this quest).
After helping free Jowan from Teyrn Loghain’s prison cell, you’ll get to know Anders better as he explains some of his motivations behind becoming a Grey Warden.
Anders was born in Ferelden, where he grew up on his family farm with siblings Merrill and Bethany—but tragedy struck when their mother died during childbirth after giving birth to another child who didn’t survive.
This event led to both children blaming their father for not doing enough after their mother passed away so soon after giving birth themselves;
However, it wasn’t until much later that they realized how much pain this had caused him, too, since he loved her deeply despite being unable to save them both at once (and probably got blamed by others around town for failing too).
10. Arbiter (Halo)
The Arbiter is a character in the Halo video game series. He is another fine addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
The Arbiter is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Halo 2 and Halo 3: ODST, as well as a playable multiplayer character in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, and Halo 5: Guardians. His name is an honorific meaning “judge.”
He was introduced to give players someone to identify with who was not Master Chief. His armor differs from other characters; his chest plate features the same type of horned skull design as those used on ancient Sangheili armor.
At the time of his introduction in 2001, he was intended to be both an ally and enemy for players.
11. Archaon (Lord of the End Times)
Archaon is a powerful Chaos Lord and the self-proclaimed Everchosen of the Chaos Gods. He is the greatest champion of Chaos and the leader of the Four Champions of Chaos.
The most powerful mortal champion of Chaos, he has led armies against many races to unite all under one banner: his own.
It is said that Archaon will eventually conquer all of reality and restore it under one rule; however, some believe that he will instead destroy reality itself when he reaches his goal. Some believe that Archaon’s true purpose was to bring about another Age Of Sigmar.
12. Arthur (Ghosts’ n Goblins)
Arthur is the main character of the Ghosts’ n Goblins series, which started in 1985. He’s a knight who must defeat Satan to save the princess.
Arthur is known for his red hair, blue armor, and shield. His most famous weapon is Excalibur (also known as Caliburn).
Many kings and warriors, including King Arthur, have passed the legendary sword down through history! So this is another great addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
Arthur’s signature move is throwing his shield like a boomerang at enemies in front of him before picking it back up again when it returns after hitting them hard enough to knock them back so that he can use it again within seconds without having to wait until he picks up another one nearby first off.”
13. Astaroth (Soulcalibur)
Astaroth is one of the main antagonists of the Soul series. He’s a large, horned demon with a penchant for violence and destruction (though he tends to get his hands dirty more than anything else).
In most iterations of Soulcalibur, Astaroth is one of two final bosses—the other being Inferno—and he’s no pushover. If you’re looking for a challenge, this guy will give it to you ten times over.
14. Atlas (BioShock)
Atlas is the main antagonist of BioShock, who was once a member of the underwater city Rapture’s ruling elite. He has a robotic body, which he uses to hunt down people and retrieve items for him. Bob Bergen also voices Atlas, who voices Dr. Gero in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball GT.
The Big Daddies are genetically enhanced humans that have undergone surgical procedures to make them into superhuman diving suits with bulky armor plates and an assortment of weapons (usually drill-like appendages).
Several other devices, such as oxygen tanks or portable diving lights affixed to their shoulders or heads. They are organized into squads called “Splicers,” which patrol specific areas under orders from their respective leaders (the big daddies).
15. Atton Rand (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords)
Atton Rand is a companion in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords. He is a smuggler and a former member of the Exchange.
His backstory includes being forced to work as an assassin for Davik Kang, who was responsible for murdering Atton’s family. This is another fine addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
In your game, Atton will join your party if you are female but not if you’re male—which doesn’t make sense considering that he’s supposed to be bisexual (or pansexual).
However, despite this limitation on his sexuality, he is still considered one of the best love interests in BioWare games due to his sarcastic personality and charm.
16. Augustus Cole (Gears of War)
The series has received critical acclaim, including multiple Game of the Year awards (from IGN, GameSpot, and GameTrailers) and several other internal accolades from Microsoft for its innovative use of technology.
The franchise has also spawned several novels and comic books, generally considered non-canonical to the games. It follows Marcus Fenix, who leads an elite group known as Delta Squad through the Locust war against humanity on Sera.
17. Arno Dorian (Assassins Creed)
Arno Dorian from the Assassin’s Creed series is a French-African assassin who fights the Templars in a world full of conspiracy and mystery.
He was first introduced in Assassin’s Creed: Unity and has since appeared in other games such as Syndicate or Odyssey.
A popular character amongst fans of the franchise, Arno’s name started trending online when it was revealed that he would not return for Black Flag 2 (instead replaced by Edward Kenway).
18. Ardyn Izunia (Final Fantasy)
Ardyn Izunia is a character in the Final Fantasy series of video games. He is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy XV, where he was designed to be a foil for Noctis Lucis Caelum and his companions. Takumi Yamazaki voices Ardyn in Japanese and Gideon Emery in English.
In the first half of Final Fantasy XV, Ardyn serves as an advisor and vassal to King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII, who rules over Insomnia on behalf of the powers.
Regis orders him to put aside his personal feelings about Noctis’ birth and protect him from harm’s way when his homeland begins suffering under Niflheim’s attack.
However, he does not uphold this duty because he believes it would mean forfeiting his freedom (as well as having no interest in protecting those who abandoned him).
Instead, he betrays Regis by poisoning him before fleeing with Nyx Ulric into hiding until they can return once they have enough power to overthrow their enemies once and for all.”
19. Altaïr Ibn-la’ahad (Assassins Creed)
Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad was a member of the Assassin Brotherhood during the Third Crusade. He was born in Masyaf and trained by Al Mualim to be a master assassin. He is the main protagonist of the video game series Assassin’s Creed.
Altaïr is characterized as a very intelligent, logical, and calculating individual who uses his wits rather than brute force when faced with problems that require solving. This is another fine addition to our list of video game characters that start with A.
His intelligence has been shown to rival even those of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Desmond Miles’ ancestor who would later use The Apple Of Eden to alter history while under its influence (though it should be noted that Desmond was accessing information from genetic memory rather than experiencing these events firsthand).
20. Alenko Kaidan (Mass Effect)
Kaidan Alenko is a human biotic in the Mass Effect series. He is a companion character and romance option for both male and female Shepards. Raphael Sbarge voices Kaidan.
An Alliance marine, Kaidan has served as an N7 special forces operative and a veteran of the First Contact War with the turians before joining Commander Shepard’s team aboard the SSV Normandy to hunt down Saren Arterius (Mass Effect).
In 2183, he was abducted by Cerberus and subjected to experimentation at their remote research facility on Pragia to extract information about his genetic compatibility with other species.
While there, his body was augmented with cybernetics to perform tasks beyond what normal humans are capable of; these augmentations included implants that increased his strength and inserted neural pathways that allowed him greater control over his biotics.
Thanks to the competitive nature of video games, it’s not unusual for developers to include characters with names that start with “A.” Sometimes these names are obscure and hard to spell, but they’re usually pretty easy to remember once you hear them in-game.
That’s why we’ve decided to put together this list of some of the best A-named characters from popular games so that you can see what all the fuss is about!
