Celine Dion was born on 30th of March, 1968 into a large family in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. She is the youngest of 14 children of Thérèse Tanguay Dion (mother), a homemaker, and Adhémar Dion (father), a butcher, both of French-Canadian descent.

At age 12, Celine together with her mother and her brother Jacques wrote and compose her first song, “Ce n’était qu’un rêve”, which translates as “It Was Only a Dream” or “Nothing But A Dream”.

In 1981, René mortgaged his house to fund her first record, La voix du bon Dieu, which was ranked as the best hit and caused her to become an instant star in Quebec.

Their union was blessed with three boys, René-Charles Angélil (first) and fraternal twins ( Eddy and Nelson). Unfortunately on the 14th of January 2016, Angélil died from throat cancer.

Celine’s husband funeral was held on 22nd of January 2016, in Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where they wed 21 years earlier.
