The cast of Hitman’s wife’s bodyguard is star-studded, with the likes of Ryan Reynolds to Morgan Freeman starring in the movie.
The movie is an American action-comedy movie released on June 16, 2021.
Patrick Hughes directed the movie Brandon and Phillip Murphy, and Tom O’Connor wrote it.
Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard grossed $65.2 million at the Box Office and ran for 116mins (1hr 56mins).
Lionsgate distributed this movie, and Michael J. Duthie and Jack Hutchings edited it.
Additionally, the movie was filmed in various parts of Europe, including Italy and Greece. Besides, the movie is a sequel to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
The movie centers around Michael Bryce being forced to team up with Darius Kincaid and his wife, Sonia Kincaid, to stop Aristotle Papadopoulos from destroying the power grid and infrastructure of Europe.
Being on sabbatical, Michael was reluctant to team up with Darius to save Europe.
However, he did so that he could recover his bodyguarding license and gain the approval of his father, Michael Bryce Snr.

1. Ryan Reynolds
Ryan is among the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played the role of Michael Bryce, a bodyguard who lost his bodyguarding license because of Darius’ actions, and the stepson of Michael Bryce Snr.
When Michael lost his bodyguarding license and became overly anxious about getting it back, his therapist told him to take a sabbatical leave to Capri, Italy. He was told not to use any lethal weapon.
However, on the first day of his sabbatical, Sonia Kincaid came to ask him for his service to rescue her husband, who was kidnapped.
After Darius was rescued from the mobster who kidnapped him, Interpol agent Bobby O’Neil kidnapped all three and forced them to work together because they killed his informant who was helping him take down Aristotle Papadopoulos.
Throughout the movie, Michael and Darius fought on different occasions, were shot at, and kidnapped.
However, Michael was anxious to retrieve his bodyguarding license to gain his father’s approval as a Triple-A bodyguard.
Michael ended up killing his stepfather as he was the chief security officer of Aristotle Papadopoulos.
2. Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel is also among the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played the role of Darius Kincaid, who is a violent hitman and the husband of Sonia.
Darius has a love-hate relationship with Michael. Darius has killed some of Michael’s clients and tried to kill Michael about 13 times.
However, Michael protected him when Darius had to testify against a political war criminal.
The movie starts with Darius being kidnapped. Sonia misheard Darius when he told her to get anyone to help him, “But Michael Bryce.”
After he was rescued, an Interpol agent made him team up with Michael to save Europe, blackmailing him with an arrest.
After escaping from the clutches of Aristotle, he and Sonia killed him on his yacht.
3. Salma Hayek
Salma is among the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard as Sonia Kincaid. Sonia is the wife of Darius.
She interrupted Michael’s sabbatical leave for him to help her rescue her husband. Just like her husband, Sonia is violent and a con artist.
She had a history with Aristotle. She had a romantic relationship with him, conned him, and faked her death.
Throughout the movie, she talked about wanting a child and tried, to the detriment of Michael, to conceive with Darius numerous times to no avail.
At the end of the movie, she and Darius killed Aristotle; she tricked Michael into signing adoption papers.
Thus, she and Darius became Michael’s parents.
4. Frank Grillo
Frank played Bobby O’Neill in the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. Bobby is a Boston-based Interpol agent that was transferred to Europe.
He hates Europe and is trying all he can to be transferred back to Boston. Additionally, he solves a crime and gets him information through unorthodox methods that are frown on.
His slogan being “use the bad guys to get the worse guys.” When Michael, Darius, and Sonia killed his informant, he blackmailed them into working together so he can capture Aristotle.
Capturing Aristotle is his ticket to being reassigned to Boston.
At the end of the movie, he cleared the trio, telling them they are free of all charges. Also, he was the one who gave Michael the adoption papers to sign.
Michael signed it, thinking it was his triple-A bodyguarding license.
5. Antonio Banderas
Antonio is on the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played Aristotle Papadopoulos, who is a Greek shipping tycoon with a bad dress sense.
He is the antagonist in the movie. When it was announced that the EU was planning on imposing more sanctions on Greece, he made plans to destroy the power grid and infrastructure of Europe.
He wanted to do this so that entire Europe would depend on Greece.
Additionally, he had a history with Sonia. He fell in love with her, ensuring she experiences all the fine things the world has to offer, not knowing she was conning him.
When his men captured a trio, he accepted Sonia as his mistress and later discovered that she was tricking him again.
Sonia and Darius killed him in the end.
6. Morgan Freeman
Morgan is also on the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played Michael Bryce Snr., who was Michael’s stepfather and Papadopoulos’ head of security.
He never approved of Michael.
When the trio came to him for help, he pretended to help them then handed them over Aristotle’s henchmen.
Furthermore, Michael Snr. is a triple-A bodyguard and was on the panel to decide if Michael should get back his license.
He made sure Michael did not get his bodyguarding license, and he tried to kill Michael, saying that he was a failure.
However, Michael killed him with a penknife. Michael using a pen knife to kill him was ironic because he constantly belittled Michael for carrying a penknife around.
7. Richard E. Grant
Richard is also on the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played Mr. Seifert, an old client of Michael and a drug addict.
He blew Sonia and Michael undercover in a club scene, claiming he knew Michael and thanked him for saving his life. This resulted in a shoot-out at the club.
Richard is a 64 years old English presenter and actor who is married to Joan Washington with two kids.
He has received several award nominations and wins in his acting career. He has featured in a lot of movies.
Some of the films he is best known for are Logan (2017), The Iron Lady (2011), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
8. Tom Hopper
Tom is also among the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He played the role of Magnusson, a famous triple-A bodyguard Papadopoulos employed.
Michael admired him and also hated him because Magnusson had all Michael wanted. In the movie, Magnusson tried to kill the trio.
However, Michael killed him on the yacht, where he also killed his father, Michael Snr.
9. Kristofer Kamiyasu
Kristofer is in Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard cast as Zento, a famous Japanese hitman Papadopoulos.
Darius admired him as he has lost some kills because of Zento.
Zento also tried to kill the trio some times in the movie but failed. Darius killed him in the yacht scene in a shooting standoff.
10. Caroline Goodall
Caroline is on Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard cast as Crowley, a senior Interpol agent based in Europe.
Bobby reports to her, and she was the one who promised to reassign him to Boston if he catches Aristotle.
Caroline is a 61 years old English actress and screenwriter who has been nominated for some awards.
She has two kids and is best known for her roles in The Princess Diaries (2001) and The Best of Me (2014).
11. Alice McMillan
Alice is also part of the cast of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. She played the role of Ailso, who was Crowley’s Scottish translator but was later reassigned to be Bobby’s translator and assistant.
12. Gabriella Wright
