February is Black History Month, and many merchants and businesses mark the occasion in unique ways throughout the month.
The streaming platform Disney+ is promoting its Celebrate Black Stories section, one of the companies commemorating the month.
This handpicked list of films, television episodes, and specials highlights Black tales for people of all ages.
This month, many fantastic films and shows range from fan favorites like Cool Runnings and The Proud Family to classics like Sister Act.
I’ve put together a list to help you get started. These are the best black history month movies on Disney Plus.
1. A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
Following the discovery of a new type of space travel and the disappearance of Meg’s father, she, her brother, and a friend must travel across the universe with three magical beings – Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs.

Meanwhile, the year is viewed through the eyes of the football squad when the man hired to coach the Black school gets promoted to head coach, although the white coach is a proven winner.
Based on actual events from 1971, the squad becomes the community’s unifying symbol as the boys and adults learn to rely on and trust one another.

4. Black Panther (2018)
Black Panther is also one of the must-watch black history movies on Disney Plus right now.
Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Prince T’Challa returns to Wakanda, a reclusive, technologically sophisticated African nation, to become the next king.
T’Challa, on the other hand, is soon challenged for the throne by groups within his own country.

She and her younger brother also assist their mother in selling corn at the market. She also helps with the care of her younger sibling.
In addition, when she meets Robert Katende at a missionary program, her world is turned upside down. Furthermore, Katende coaches soccer and teaches children chess at a neighborhood center.
Phiona attends the center out of curiosity, learns the game, and gets enthralled by it. Under Katende’s tutelage, she rises to the top of the gang.

Despite the shortage of funds, Haskins sees an opportunity to sue the NCAA and relocates his family to a college dorm.
However, he assembled a legendary team by combining seven talented and rejected black players with five Caucasian players to win the 1966 national title versus Kentucky.

Ray-Ray McElrathbey, a Clemson University freshman football player, covertly fostered his younger brother on campus because his home life became too unstable.

15. Hidden Figures (2016)
NASA discovered untapped ability in a group of African-American female mathematicians who acted as the brains behind one of the most significant operations in U.S. history. The U.S. raced against Russia to put a man in space.
We follow three of these women, known as “human computers,” as they quickly advanced through NASA’s ranks alongside some of history’s greatest brains.
They were primarily tasked with calculating the historic launch of astronaut John Glenn into space and ensuring his safe return.
Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Goble Johnson overcame gender, racial, and professional barriers.
Their intellect and drive to dream big, beyond anything the human race had ever accomplished, solidified them.
