Unlike the smart series with its colorful design, the Pouvoir 3 air sports bezels, though it still manages to have a 6 inch display. Display resolution is a little bit poor at 960×480 pixels. The body is made with durable plastic.

In the camera department, you get an 8MP selfie camera and also an 8 MP rear shooter. Both assisted by an LED flash.

Nokia 3.1 / ?29800

HMD Global’s Nokia brand is one of the brands currently regaining their foothold in the smartphone market. The Nokia 3.1 might bot be the best in size when compared with other devices, but it holds its when other specifications areas.

The smartphone is 5.2 inch in size and pocket friendly. The phone is packed with a metal frame and thick plastic back. The display resolution is 720 pixels and adorned with Gorilla glass

There is an 8MP selfie camera (same found on the Nokia 3.1 Plus) with no LED flash and also a single 13MP rear camera module. A flash assists the camera.

The device is an Android One phone which means it gets the latest security update. Though it comes Android 8.0 Oreo, it can be upgraded to Android 9 Pie and also Android 10 Q.

Despite being small, the Nokia 3.1 has MediaTek MT6750 chipset. It packs an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. There is 3GB of RAM space and 32GB of storage space onboard.

Itel S15 / ?24000

The itel S15 might be Itel’s response to complains over boring designs as the Transsion Holdings company finally brings in a fresh design.

Released in August, the device has a teardrop notch on a 6.1 inch display which is quite surprising. Itel claims 86% screen to body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The finishing, as usual, is still plastic. Gradient colors were definitely borrowed from Tecno and Infinix.

The Itel S series is Selfie focus, but a 16MP selfie shooter on a budget device is still surprising. In fact, I have never seen it on an itel device before. There is a dual 8MP plus 2MP rear camera as usual.

But there is where the major surprises end though as we fall back to 1GB of RAM space, 16GB storage space and Quadcore processors clocked at 1.3GHz)still faster than the 1.28 Tecno Pouvoir 3 Pro though)

The phone is shipped with Android 9 Pie, Go edition. Also, the face and fingerprint unlock are here. As if it is the prize you have to pay for a better camera though, you get a 3000mAh battery. The phone sells around N24,000. Click Here To Buy The Itel S15 on Jumia

Itel 15 Pro / ?28000

For once, there is a pro phone that Itel made that feels like a pro. Except you hate Itel devices though, this should be your Ideal Budget device.

Why? First, we have the modern design like in the? S 15 with a teardrop notch. The 6.1 inch display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio is still present, which means it is not all that different from the S 15.

Where are the changes? Itel gave the camera the AI boost visible in most infinix and Tecno devices (they are siblings remember). Also, they finally brought back the 2.5D glass. Also, there is 4G available Before you complain, remember this is a budget device below N30,000.

There is the 16MP selfie shooter and also the triple rear camera. The rear camera lenses are 8MP + 2MP + QVGA. Looks fine on a budget device.

Then again, for hardware, you have the 2 GB of RAM space, and either a 16GB storage or 32 GB storage space. I haven’t seen an Itel device with 32 GB of storage in years. There is an Octacore processor clocked at 1.6GHz, not much but hey, better than most phones here.

The facial recognition uses LiveNess mode, which needs the owner to blink his eyes before the phone opens. The fingerprint is still there. You still get a 3000 mAh battery though.

This phone is not yet available on Jumia, but you can get it from your local dealers
