However, since there are many excellent sitcoms on Netflix, we cannot mention them all.

Moreover, these are some of the sitcoms the author can guarantee will make you laugh and forget your troubles.  

Since each person’s sense of humor is unique, this list includes workplace sitcoms, mockumentaries, and dramedies.

So, some of the best sitcoms on Netflix are;

1. Arrested Development

Bluth’s family name used to be prominent in business, but they lost everything after the head patriarch was convicted of fraud.

Michael has to maintain peace in the house as he is the only sane person. Additionally, this series ran from 2003 to 2019 and had five seasons on Netflix.

Some cast members are Jason Bateman, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, David Cross, Alia Shawkat, and Portia de Rossi. 

2. The Good Place

The Good Place is another series on Netflix’s best sitcoms list. Besides, it is about Eleanor, a dead saleswoman who lived a morally corrupt life.  

However, she finds herself in a heaven-like afterlife. Although she is there because of mistaken identity, she tries to hide her past to remain there.  
 

The series, which ran from 2016 to 2020, had four seasons. The cast included Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, D’Arcy Carden, Jameela Jamil, and Manny Jacinto. 

3. Bojack Horseman

This is one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. Even though this is an animation, it is not for kids, as it makes many references to alcohol, drugs, and sex. The series is about a humanoid horse, Bojack Horseman,  

who is lost in a sea of self-loathing and alcohol and then decides to return. Bojack used to be a star of a ’90s sitcom where he was the adoptive father of two orphaned girls and one orphaned boy.  

However, the show was suddenly canceled despite being the hottest. Now, 18 years later,  

Bojack decides to regain his dignity with the help of a human sidekick and his feline ex-girlfriend, who also happens to be his agent.

This series shows how Bojack handles Hollywood culture, which is very different from the one he knew. He takes some time to get used to the new trends.  

Additionally, this series ran from 2014 to 2020 and had six seasons. The cast includes Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Amy Sedaris, Aaron Paul, and Paul F. Tompkins. 

4. Schitt’s Creek

Schitt’s Creek is one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. The series is about a married couple, Johnny and Moira, who have to move to a small town called Schitt’s Creek after they go bankrupt.  

Initially, Johnny bought the hotel in the city as a joke when the family was rich. This series shows how the couple and their two adult kids, David and Alexis, adjust to the new life situation and the town they find themselves in.  

Additionally, this series has six seasons, which run from 2015 to 2020. Furthermore, the cast includes Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire, Noah Reid, and Sarah Levy. 

5. Sex Education

This is another one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. Sex Education is about a socially awkward high school student, Otis, who may not have much experience in sex.  

However, he has a lot of knowledge on the subject due to his sex-ed teacher, his mom, Jean, who happens to be a sex therapist due to manuals, videos, and many conversations with his mom about sex.  

When his classmates learn about Otis’s home life, he uses his knowledge to elevate his social status in school.  

He teams up with a smart girl, Maeve, and together, they set up an underground sex therapy clinic to solve the issues of their classmates. Through all this, Otis realizes that he might need some therapy.  

Furthermore, the series has two seasons. Season 3 will premiere on September 17, 2021, and the first season premiered on January 11, 2019.  

The cast includes Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwe, Gillian Anderson, Aimee Lou Wood, and Connor Swindells. 

6. Big Mouth

Big Mouth is another animated series on Netflix’s best sitcoms list. This series shows the difficulty of puberty.

Andrew learns this firsthand with inconvenient erections, strange wet dreams, and bar-mitzvah meltdowns.  

Andrew’s best friends, Nick and Jessi, who develop romantic feelings along the way, are also with him for the ride. Just like Bojack Horseman, this animation is meant mainly for adults.

8. Happy Endings

Happy Endings is one of the best sitcoms on Netflix, and it ended way too early. It involves six friends “adulting” in Chicago and adjusting after the couple who brought them together, Dave and Alex, break up.  

The series has three seasons, which ran from 2011 to 2013. Some cast members are Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Adam Pally, Casey Wilson, Damon Wayan Jr., Zachary Knighton, and Megan Mullally. 

9. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

This is also one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. This series is about Kimmy Schmidt, rescued 15 years after a cult kidnapped her.  

In the series, she tries reclaiming her life in New York and does this with wide-eyed enthusiasm.

Without thinking, she rents a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor who is also a street performer in Times Square, to make ends meet. 

Besides, unlike the pair, this discovers that they are well suited to each other. Titus reintroduces Kimmy to modern life, and Kimmy inspires Titus never to give up.  

As a team, they weather whatever life throws at them. Furthermore, this series ran from 2015 to 2019 and had four seasons.

11. Community

Community is another one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. This series is about a lawyer whose law degree was revoked, so he had to join the Greendale Community College.  

However, the diverse temperaments of students who joined his study group led to several quirky and memorable encounters.

It includes the boss, Michael, who unintentionally tells inappropriate jokes. Jim, the likable guy, and Dwight, the employee who lacks social skills and common sense, as well as other employees in the office.

16. Two and a Half Men

Initially, Alan came claiming to stay temporarily, but his “temporary” stay turned into years. Moreover, the series ran for 12 seasons between 2003 to 2015.

However, this series revolves around the lives of Penelope, a newly single Army veteran, and her Cuban-American family and how they experience the ups and downs of life.  

Penelope is currently working as a nurse and raising two solid children. However, she enlists the help of her “old school” mother and her building confidant.

This series shows how loved ones can make life’s good and bad times worthwhile.

27. Toast of London
