The Tecno Spark 4 is an entry level smartphone meant for the youths. This smartphone is the fourth generation of the Tecno Spark series and features some current trends.
The spark series combines power and efficiency with decent camera specifications.
Design and Display
The first noticeable design feature on the Tecno Spark 4 is the notch housing the front selfie camera. There is no space for LED flashlight but there is a little frame that holds sensors and speakers.
The button bezel is slim and adds sturdiness to the phone as the bottom accommodates the USB ports, speakers and mic.
Turning the phone to the back, there is a vertical triple camera setup and LED flash cutout with a fingerprint sensor. The casing is made with polycarbonate. Colors available are Royal Purple, Vacation Blue, Misty Grey, and Energetic Orange. That is as far as the design goes.
On the display aspect, there is a 6.52 inch IPS display with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution. The Graphics Processing Unit is the PowerVR GE8320 by Imagination technologies clocked at 650 MHz.
The device has a screen to body resolution above 80% and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Camera
The selfie camera housed on the notch display has an 8MP lens with screen flash support. Like most other smartphones released in this era, the phone has a triple camera setup.
The triple camera setup at the back comprises a 13MP main shooter, 2 MP wide sensor and a QVGA depth sensor. There is a dual flash LED available to shooter night time photo shoots.
There is software support for the camera in the form of AI mode to make pictures clearer.
Hardware and Memory Specifications
Under the hood of the Tecno Spark 4 is the cost-efficient MediaTek MT6762M Helio A22 processor with four (4) Cortex A53 core clocked at 2.0GHz. This is good enough for a smartphone of this type. The processor also means the Spark 4 has 4G support.
For memory the Tecno Spark 4 comes with 32GB of storage space and 2 GB of RAM space for decent multitasking. The storage memory can be expanded to up to 128 GB using a memory card.
Battery and Software
The Tecno Spark 4 comes with a 4000 mAh battery to provide enough juice for daily operations. There is no mention of fast charge.
For software the Tecno Spark 4 runs the Android 9 OS on the latest HiOS 5.5 skin. This usually comes with One hand mode support, game mode and windows mode.
