1. One Night In Miami (2020)
“One Night in Miami” follows a youthful, boisterous Cassius Clay as he emerges from the Miami Beach Convention Center as the new Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World on February 25, 1964.
Additionally, he stunned the sports world by defeating Sonny Liston against all odds.
He then spends the evening with three of his closest friends. Other notable cast members include Leslie Odom R., Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, and Aldis Hodge.
2. A Century Of Black Cinema (2002)
A Century of Black Cinema is one of the best Black History Month movies on Amazon Prime. This film examines critical periods in African American cinema’s long and illustrious history of social and political developments.

3. 4 Little Girls (1997)
The bombing of the 16th Street Church in Birmingham, Alabama, was one of the vilest hate crimes during the height of the civil rights struggle, and this video tells the story of the people and events that led up to it.
Additionally, four young African-American girls were killed in that attack, and a nation was simultaneously horrified, angered, and energized to continue the battle for equality and justice.

4. Chi-Raq (2015)
Chi-Raq is also one of the best black history month movies on Amazon Prime after a stray gunshot kills a child, a group of women led by Lysistrata organized against the ongoing violence in Chicago’s Southside.

6. Fruitvale Station (2013)
Fruitvale Station is also one of the must-watch black history month movies. This is the true story of Oscar, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who felt something in the air as he woke up on December 31, 2008.
Additionally, he takes it as a sign to get a head start on his New Year’s resolutions: to be a better son to his mother, whose birthday falls on New Year’s Eve, a better partner to his girlfriend, with whom he hasn’t been sincere recently; and a better father to T, their beautiful 4-year-old daughter.

Skeeter (Stone) is a Southern society girl determined to become a writer after college. But her decision to interview the black women who have spent their lives caring for wealthy Southern families turns her friends’ lives—and a Mississippi town—upside down.
Additionally, Skeeter’s best friend’s housekeeper, Aibileen (Davis), is the first to open up, much to her friends’ dismay in the tight-knit black society.
Although Skeeter’s long-standing friendships are in jeopardy, she and Aibileen continue their partnership, and more women soon come forward to share their stories.
And it turns out that they have a lot to say. The top cast includes Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Octavia Spencer, and Emma Stone.
8. The Hate U Give (2018)
The Hate U Give is also one of the best movies for Black History Month. Starr Carter lives in two worlds: the underprivileged, primarily black neighborhood and the wealthy, mostly white prep school.
Additionally, when Starr witnesses her childhood best friend Khalil being fatally shot by a police officer, the uncomfortable balance between both worlds is destroyed.
Starr must now find her voice and speak up for what is right despite pressures from all sides of the community.
9. Creed (2015)
Adonis Johnson is the son of Apollo Creed, the legendary boxing champion who died in a boxing battle in Rocky IV (1985).
In addition, Adonis was born after his father died and wished to follow in his father’s footsteps in boxing. Rocky Balboa, the retired heavyweight boxing champion and Apollo Creed’s former friend, is the mentor he seeks.
Furthermore, Rocky eventually accepts the role of Adonis’s mentor. With Rocky’s help, they aim to gain a title job and confront even deadlier opponents than his father. But it has to be seen whether he is a true fighter.
The top cast includes Dolph Lundgren, Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, and Phylicia Rashad.
10. A Ballerina’s Tale (2015)
A Ballerina’s Tale is also among the best Black History Month movies. Misty Copeland, an African American ballerina, is the subject of a feature documentary that examines her meteoric rise.
There are also racial and body image issues in the top ballet industry. Some of the top cast members include Misty Copeland, Victoria Rowell, Gilda Squire, Raven Wilkinson, and Daisha Graf.
11. Moonlight (2016)
Young adolescence, middle adolescence, and young adulthood are depicted in the life of black-American Chiron.
Furthermore, Chiron was in a crime-ridden Miami neighborhood with his single, crack-addict mother, Paula. Additionally, Chiron is a shy, withdrawn youngster due to his small stature and mother’s neglect.
He is more concerned with getting her fix and satisfying her carnal desires than taking care of him.
In addition, Chiron is bullied due to these issues, with slurs flung at him that he doesn’t understand beyond the fact that they are meant to be harmful.
Apart from his same-aged Cuban-American companion, Kevin, Chiron receives what little direction he has from a local drug dealer named Juan, who can tell that Chiron is in need.
Jharrel Jerome, Trevante Rhodes, André Holland, Janelle Monáe, and Ashton Sanders are the top cast.
12. Crown Heights (2017)
Next on our list of best black history month movies is Crown Heights. Carl King, Colin Warner’s best friend, commits his life to demonstrate Colin’s innocence after being falsely accused of murder.
Some of the top cast include Marsha Blackburn, Lakeith Stanfield, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Natalie Paul.
13. A Grace Like Grace (2015)
A harassed 17-year-old girl raised by a single mother seeks advice from her best friend and older sister. The top cast includes Megan Good, Ryan Destiny, Ty Hodges, and Garcelle Beauvais.
14. I Am Bolt (2016)
This biography tells the story of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, who made history by becoming the fastest man alive at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, Asafa Powell, Pelé, and Ziggy Marley are some of the top cast.
15. The Gospel Of Andre (2017)
The last one of our best black history month movies is Gospel of Andre. In a dramatic depiction that includes cameos by Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford,
Bethann Hardison, Valentino, and Manolo Blahnik, operatic fashion editor André Leon Talley’s life and career are on the show, from the segregated American South to the world’s fashion capitals.
