Transsion holdings are no doubt a big player in the African smartphone market and have further tightened in grip on the continent with the launch of the Infinix Hot 7 from its Infinix Mobility division.
As the upgrade to the Hot 6, the Infinix Hot 7 is a budget level smartphone meant to entice the youths with large displays and fair features.
Design and Display
Picking up where it left with the Hot 6X and S3X, the Infinix Hot 7 has a notched display, and also the bezels are reduced to create more space for the screen.
The notch houses the LED flash, speaker, the selfie camera sensor amongst other sensors. The Infinix Hot 7 comes with a plastic body and a vertical rear camera set up with dual led flash. The fingerprint sensor is not too far off.
When it comes to the device display, the device has a 6.26 display with 720 x 1500 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
Camera
Nowadays the word AI is being thrown around, and Infinix also has made it known that the Inifinix Hot 7 cameras are AI assisted.
The selfie camera is equipped with an 8MP lens and a LED flash while the rear camera dons a 13MP lens and has dual LED flash.
Hardware components
Like most phones they have churned out in the HOT series, the Infinix Hot 7 is equipped with an entry-level MediaTek MT6580p quadcore chipset with clock speed at 1.3GHz (come on Infinix, we were expecting something like Helio P22 from you).
In the phone memory segment, there are two options depending on taste and cash. You either get a 1GB RAM space plus 16GB of storage space or a 2 GB RAM device paired with 32 GB of storage space. Both can be expanded using an external memory card.
Battery and OS
One of the aspects that give Infinix the ability to dominate the Nigeria budget market is the battery power it offers. The Infinix hot 7 has a 4000mAh battery but no fast charge technology.
The phone runs on Android 8.1 (Go edition for the 1GB RAM variant) and offers no 4G connectivity
