Best Rhythm Games For SwitchPin

The best Rhythm games for switch are a terrific way to feed your passion for music, whether you’re missing the club or want to infuse some awesome melodies into your life.

If you’re going to get your groove on, we’ve compiled a list of the greatest Nintendo Switch music games.

The majority of these games are local multiplayer games with many players. However, a couple is only for two people.

Once upon a time, it seemed like you couldn’t swing a dance mat without striking the most recent rhythm game.

While You may pass those halcyon days, the latest Nintendo system still has plenty of rhythm-based fun. It’s never been more enjoyable with the growing number of indies embracing the genre and giving it new twists.

Furthermore, Action games, DJ simulators, and even a rhythm-based take on an RPG classic are all examples of rhythm games.

All of these games are currently available on the Nintendo Switch. We even dwell in a timeline where The Legend of Zelda inspired a terrific rhythm game.

What an incredible time to be alive! So we put together a list of some of the best rhythm games for the switch to ensure you don’t miss a beat.

Superbeat Xonic

When this game first came out on the PS Vita, Superbeat Xonic from PM Studios and Nurijoy astonished me. Superbeat Xonic surprised me with its smooth UI and wide collection of music.

Unlike most rhythm games I had played at the time when I was already familiar with the music. It includes more calming music, as well as lively and heavy music.

The best thing about Superbeat Xonic on Nintendo Switch is how well it works with both touch and a controller. Using a controller will take some getting used to because the game was built for symmetric sticks like Katamari Damacy.

A touchscreen bug existed at launch. However, You eventually fixed it in a patch. The Nintendo Switch has several well-known rhythm games.

Thumper

More motion than rhythm, but if you want to succeed, you must master the movement. Thumper is a fast-paced on-rails action game in which you must react to the music to stay alive.

It’s mesmerizing to play as psychedelic graphics swirl around you and react to your actions. Your performance is also determined by how quickly you react, and things can become really difficult very rapidly.

It’s an action game unlike any other and a very compelling entry with a fantastic soundtrack. Furthermore, if you want to add some excitement to your playlist, this is an actual rhythm game.

Cadence Of Hyrule

The original Crypt of the Necrodancer is an excellent blend of rhythm-based combat and dungeon exploring that almost plays like a puzzle game.

You must remember to strike foes to the beat and respond appropriately to obstacles. So when a sequel based on The Legend of Zelda was revealed, it seemed like a match made in heaven.

Adding things from the Zelda series, a fantastic pixel graphic style to bring it all to life. And slapping on top some of the best remixes of Zelda tunes you’ll ever hear.

The cadence of Hyrule is a grandiose celebration of the iconic series, and any Zelda fan who hasn’t played it yet is missing out. Furthermore, this is one of the best rhythm games for switch.

Floor Kids

Floor Kids is a breakdance battler that, like many rhythm games, might take time to get used to. However, once it does, it reveals itself to be one of the most infectiously amazing rhythm games on Switch.

Allowing you to design your dancing moves and improvise in ways that few other games in the genre do. It’s a satisfying and unique Switch hidden gem that you should add to your library.

Wandersong

Wandersong is a platformer with a unique singing concept in which the passionate bard you control saves the universe with the power of song.

Your dulcet tones are linked to the right stick, and you must strike the correct notes to defeat adversaries in a world that responds to your voice. Furthermore, wandersong is a delightful, colorful little ditty with beautiful images and terrific language.

Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum ‘N’ Fun

It wouldn’t be a Nintendo console without some accessories, and this one could be legendary. The fantastic drum-pad controller (if you can find it) in Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Joy for Nintendo Switch provides all the fun of the arcade version. However, shaking Joy-Cons is still an excellent way to experience it.

Moreover, with tons of excellent music, including tunes from Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2, wave your controller to the beat. It’s ideal for a conventional rhythm experience or simply to relieve stress.

There’s even a recent adventure RPG spin-off if you can’t get enough. This game is one of the best rhythm games for Switch available.

Aaero

Another action-oriented variation on the genre, Aaero, seems like a cross between a rhythm game and StarFox.

As you pilot a small plane and combat waves of adversaries while trying to keep up with their attacks. It features a dubstep and techno-inspired soundtrack and some fantastic licensed music.

Plus, while the game is challenging to pick up early on. Once you understand the many parts and can just go along with the gameplay.

And soundtrack while smashing waves of foes. It’s a delightful game. This is a no-brainer if you want a space-based shooter with a beautiful soundtrack.

Sayonara Wild Heart

Sayonara Wild Hearts is a brief yet charming game that plays more like an interactive concept album. It’s a technicolor whirlwind that uses gameplay to tell an emotional story, and it can make you cry by the end.

The soundtrack is incredible, and the gameplay changes with each song, so nothing gets boring. This game is also more complicated than it appears, and attempting to achieve the maximum score possible in each chapter adds to the replay value.

Furthermore, You can probably finish this one in one evening, but it will stay with you for much longer.

Voez

VOEZ is a beautiful rhythm game containing mostly J-pop, K-pop, electronic, and Vocaloid music that began life as a touchscreen-only title thanks to its mobile beginnings.

But don’t let that put you off. Also, the game makes up for the lack of variation in the soundtrack. With beautiful visuals and intense rhythm gameplay, elevating it well above your usual smartphone two-bit tapper.

VOEZ is highly worth studying, with monthly updates bringing even more tracks and an update introducing controller capability for docked play.

Deemo

DEEMO is another mobile game ported for Switch by Rayark, the studio behind VOEZ. It probably outperforms the firm’s prior effort thanks to diverse genres and a less-frantic input technique.

The game has you tapping as notes fall from the top of the screen with rhythm gameplay that’s as lovely as its predecessor and a little more accessible to boot, thanks to its pianist protagonist.

You can also play with your Nintendo Labo piano Toy-Con. And with a sequel in the pipeline, now is the ideal moment to sample DEEMO’s charms. This game is one of the best rhythm games for Switch.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory

You did ask for Kingdom Hearts 3 on Switch. The popular RPG series starring Square Enix and Disney characters has a devoted following.

So it’s no surprise that it’s now available on Nintendo as a rhythm game. React to more than 140 songs from the series and take a visual tour of the entire season.

While this is probably only for die-hard fans of the genre. Mainly as it covers some significant plot points from the games, it’s a brilliant action-rhythm mix that looks great on the Switch. This game is a must-have for fans of the series, but others should start with the originals.

Cytus

The ‘Definitive Edition’ of another beat-based offering from rhythm kings Rayark is now available for Switch.

With over 200 tracks, it’s yet another terrific game from the developer, which has two previous titles on our list. Also, Cytus features a bouncing black bar that moves around circular notes that you tap to the beat.

Notes can appear anywhere on the screen, and the gameplay differs significantly from VOEZ and DEEMO. It’s pretty satisfying to master the most difficult songs, and the only drawback is the game’s expensive price tag. You’ll be golden if you wait for a sale. This game is one of the best rhythm games for Switch.

Fuser

Fuser picks off where DJ Hero left off, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the genre and equipping you with all the skills you’ll need to become the finest DJ.

Also, fuser gets a lot right, with a fun story mode that recounts your ascent to fame and an extensive library of licensed music ready to be stripped down and played in whatever mash-up you can think of.

Furthermore, the moment-to-moment gameplay is also a lot of fun, as you tear apart the track stems and create some outstanding (and bad) tracks with the tools available.

You can create your own perfect festival experience with so much to unlock for both your characters and stage.

Runner 3

Runner3 is the third installment in the BIT.TRIP Runner series, and it follows Commander Video as he runs, slides, hops, and kicks his way through courses, collecting gold while avoiding hazards.

Runner3 is a colorful, vibrant addition to Switch’s tracklist filled with fun and innovation. With narration from Charles Martinet (Mario himself) and movement tied to the beat of the soundtrack.

Fitness Boxing

Fitness Boxing is a fun, energetic sport that gets your heart racing. It borrows cues from the Just Dance series and other rhythm games to deliver some mild CV in time with the beat.

It won’t replace long hours at the gym, but it can tone up those arms and remove a few pounds, something many of us now on lockdown would appreciate.

Also, it would be a mistake to believe you’re receiving some magical antidote for your spare tyre or a game in the classic sense when you buy this, but it had us going back for more.

If Ring Fit Adventure’s full-body workout feels too strenuous, this rhythm-based alternative perfectly divides the difference.

Musynx

Musynx avoids getting caught down in non-essential narrative nonsense instead of focusing on the bare fundamentals of pure rhythm game fun. Its beat-based gameplay and inputs are excellent regardless of how you choose to play.

And while it may not stand out, it has a plain arcade purity that we appreciate. Musynx is a fantastic rhythm game for Switch, with a lively tracklist and superb graphics. This game is one of the best rhythm games for Switch.

Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party

Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party!!!! It is a joyful rollercoaster of a rhythm game with numerous accessible input options that enable you to get into the groove much faster than some of the other winning entries on this list.

It incorporates aspects from Taito’s extensive back library of gaming icons. Groove Coaster is worth checking out if you’re up for a (wai wai) party.

Chaining combos together in time to the addictive Japanese catalog of tracks is brilliant fun, and with over 100 tracks available in the base game, Groove Coaster is worth hitting up if you’re up for a wai wai party.

Hexagroove: Tactical Dj

Hexagroove is one of the year’s biggest surprises. Tactical DJ distinguishes itself from the competition by adding a layer of strategy to its beat-based gameplay.

Switching between instruments to delight the swarm of dancers in front of you is totally up to your skills, whether they cheer or jeer.

It’s up to you to read the room, and one of Hexagroove’s most significant achievements is recreating the sensation of walking into a club and hearing the first notes of a known favorite.

And the audience goes crazy! It goes far further than we can get into here, but trust us when we say it’s an exciting ride.

Mad Rat Dead

Thanks to its bizarre tale and attractive graphics, mad Rat Dead would be a competent platformer even without the rhythm elements.

But, because of a terrific soundtrack, it’s a rhythm-based platforming experience that feels unique. Even if it isn’t the first to combine both genres.

Also, it can be challenging at times, but with the rewind function, it’s a game that looks pretty carefree overall, allowing you to simply dive into the music and blast out some sick moves. This video game is one of the best rhythm games for Switch.

Tadpole Treble Encore

Tadpole Treble Encore isn’t for everyone, as it’s a brief entry in a niche genre. Nonetheless, missing out on this delightful event would be a mistake.

Tadpole Treble Encore is a fast-paced and engaging adventure with superb audiovisual presentation and solid game design.

Also, if you missed out on this on Wii U or are looking for a good rhythm game to add to your Switch library, we recommend picking it up right now.

Also, if you were fortunate to be one of the lucky few who got to play it on Wii U, we still think it’s worth a second go — but keep in mind that it’s not a completely new experience.

EverHood

One of the most memorable games we’ve played in recent years is Everhood. Its bizarre plot and strange characters are reason enough to check it out.

Still, the immediately accessible rhythmic combat will keep you captivated from the first battle to the spectacular final boss clash.

The game’s minimalist visual design and purposefully ambiguous plot may put off some. Still, Everhood offers spades of creativity and innovative gameplay for those looking for something unusual, and it deserves a spot in your Switch library.

Klang 2

Klang 2 isn’t flawless, and it’s a little short, but it succeeds in providing a fun rhythm action experience that genre lovers will like. The rhythm of action gameplay is perfectly timed.

You only have to think about your left stick and the ‘Y’ button and your progress through the stages by pointing the stick at symbols in sync with the music and hitting ‘Y’ as needed.

Simple enough, but the fact that all of the rhythmic gameplay is overlaid over a battle adds a depth of complexity.

However, the end product is a gratifying and unusual take on the rhythm genre, though not one we’d suggest to everyone trying to get their feet wet with rhythm games.

In addition, Fans will undoubtedly find enough to like here to justify the comparatively low price of admission. This video game is one of the best rhythm games for switch.

Tetris Effect

While Tetris Effect: Connected is more strictly defined as a puzzle game, we’d argue that thanks to its vital aural components, its unique synesthesia — the intoxicating fusion of the audio-visual with its additive, mesmeric gameplay — makes this the best iteration of the classic puzzler ever.

Also worth noting is the superb usage of HD rumble, which significantly enriches the overall experience. Rather than the ‘teeth-rattling’ or ‘off’ that other third-party developers seem to be limited to, the developers use a variety of gentle vibration frequencies.

Furthermore, we all know how good Tetris is. However, Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s unique audio-visual take on the classic puzzler makes this the best block-falling game. It’s a must-have experience. Just remember to bring your headphones.
