2017 Car Movies

1. The Fate of the Furious (2017)

The Fate of the Furious is an action movie. It has car chases, shoot-outs, and explosions. You could take a date to see it, but you probably shouldn’t.aaa

The Fate of the Furious is a sequel to The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).

I probably can’t make much sense from this review if you haven’t seen any of those movies.

The Fate of the Furious plot The eighth film in the series, The Fate of the Furious, is the first to be directed by someone other than the star, Vin Diesel.

It is also a bit of a departure from previous movies, focusing on Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto, and his transformation from a family man to a ruthless criminal.

What makes this movie different from previous ones?

To start with, Fate of the Furious was directed by someone else. The previous seven movies were directed by Diesel himself; he has been so closely identified with the series that many people called him “the star who also directs (and writes and produces).”

The movie is also a departure because it focuses almost entirely on Diesel’s character. Of its $100 million budget, Diesel took up more than $50 million. He is the only person among the eight main cast members who got top billing above the title.

New director F. Gary Gray (who has previously directed Straight Outta Compton and The Italian Job) takes over this movie after years of working with Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese in well-known movies such as The Italian Job and The Negotiator.

2. John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)

John Wick: Chapter 2 is a 2017 car movie. I don’t mean it has many scenes set in or around cars; I mean it’s about cars.

This makes some people nervous. They’re worried that the movie will be yet another shallow celebration of the car as a status symbol and that we’ll leave the theater feeling like we need our car to feel cool.

But John Wick: Chapter 2 is a deeper movie than that. It has more to say about cars and car culture than any other recent film, and it says it well.

Chapter 2 centers on the Continental, an exclusive brand of luxury cars whose owners receive excellent service from a worldwide network of dealerships and mechanics.

If you buy a Continental, you are given a special phone that gives you direct access to the company whenever you need anything fixed or replaced on your vehicle, no matter how exotic or rarefied its parts may be.

Chapter 2 takes place six days after John Wick’s Continental was stolen from him by Russian mobsters at the end of John Wick.

His goal this time around is to get his car back, which is complicated by the fact that he killed every mobster involved in stealing it in Chapter 1.

John Wick: Chapter 2 was directed by Chad Stahelski and released on February 9, 2017.

3. Logan (2017)

The main character is Wolverine, also known as Logan, played by Hugh Jackman. He’s old now, when most people retire or die. He has bone claws from his knuckles, and he heals from any wound.

He used to be a superhero; now, he is a chauffeur for hire. That means he can drive fancy cars he doesn’t have to pay for.

The Logan plot goes like this: An old man (played by Hugh Jackman, who has reached the age when not only do you get to play an old man, you get to play an old man who looks like he’s dying) is driving along in a car with a young girl.

They have been doing this for years. The girl, who calls him “Dad,” has no memory of anything before the day they started driving. She also doesn’t remember that he can’t actually be her father because she is a clone of his dead daughter.

One day a bunch of bad guys tries to take them out, and we learn that the old man was actually Wolverine in the X-Men movies.

Also that the young girl is named Laura (Dafne Keen), and that she has claws in her hands and feet as Wolverine does.

And that the superpowers that gave Wolverine his fame are genetic, so Laura got them too.

If you are looking for a 2017 car movie that gives you the feeling of the fast and furious, then Logan is another movie in this collection you should consider watching.

Logan was released on March 3, 2017, and directed by James Mangold.

4. Baby Driver (2017)

Baby Driver was directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright, and stars Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Jon Bernthal, Eiza González, and Jon Hamm.

Baby Driver is about a young man who can’t drive yet has a fascination for driving cars. He works for a mob boss as a driver who, along with his crew, robs banks and crosses the country to get more money to pay their boss back.

Their next target is a bank in the middle of downtown Atlanta which makes the job more difficult but gives them greater reward since they would have earned 64% of 80 million dollars in that bank.

Baby has to come up with a plan to help them rob the bank but at the same time tries to quit his business with the mob boss by getting married to his longtime girlfriend.

The movie, despite its seemingly simplistic plot, is filled with twists and turns that make it worth watching.

The story takes place in Berlin, during the Cold War, where she is sent to debrief an undercover MI6 agent within the KGB. The film was released worldwide on July 28, 2017, by Focus Features under their Columbia Pictures label.

6. Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Blade Runner 2049 is a movie about a man who makes cars. That isn’t immediately obvious because Blade Runner 2049 is set in a futuristic world where people mostly use flying cars. But the flying cars are made by man.

The main character is K (played by Ryan Gosling), who works for a company that manufactures replicants—androids that look like humans, with human brains but mechanical bodies.

The replicants are designed to be used as slaves and some of the rebels. As part of his job, K tracks down and kills any replicants who have rebelled.

He meets another replicant named Joi (Ana de Armas), who is not designed to be a slave; she’s an artificial intelligence that exists only inside computers and other devices. They fall in love, which complicates his job.

And he finds out from an aging scientist (played by Jared Leto) that there are older androids still alive, more advanced than the ones currently in use. The scientist wants K to help him find the androids and kill them.

8. Cars 3 (2017)

Do you love watching animated car movies? If yes is your answer, then Cars 3 is the ideal car movie in animated form for you to watch.

Cars 3 is a sequel to Cars and Cars 2. If you haven’t seen the earlier movies, there are no spoilers here.

But if you have, you know that Lightning McQueen, the original hero, has been replaced by a new car named Jackson Storm.

It’s not an accident that the new car is named after a storm. This movie is about whether Lightning can change or learn from experience or whatever other metaphor you want to use for losing.

After an exciting opening sequence in which we learn that Lightning has lost something important (his winning record), he announces his retirement from racing.

He’s getting old and feels like it’s time to settle down and spend more time with his trainer, Cruz Ramirez.

This turns out to be a mistake. The next generation of racers takes him literally: they drive around him because he’s too slow, calling him “old man.”

Lightning is too proud to admit his mistake until it’s almost too late, but Cruz, who is younger and ambitious herself, insists that she can help him get faster again by training him on the road he’ll race on next: Route 66, which runs through several states that have powerful political lobbies. This makes them both fugitives from the law.
