The 2015 best action movies deliver memorable characters or throw ideas at you. 2015 action movies were all about spy crafts and the reappearance of long slumbering franchises.

Below are the lists of 2015 best action movies.

1. IP Man 3

  • Director: Wilson Yip
  • Star casts: Donnie Yen, Lynn Xiong, Jin Zhang, and Mike Tyson
  • IMDb ratings: 7.0

The original Ip Man movie was directed by Wilson Yip and starred Donnie Yen. Although exaggeratedly, it covers the genuine man’s life, leaving nothing of historical significance intact, sequels are still being made.

Thankfully, the fact that these movies are “unnecessary” hasn’t stopped them from being fantastic. The themes of honor and anti-colonialism are still present, and Yen continues to kick a lot of ass in spectacular ways.

This time, Mike Tyson joins the battle, and while he’s been nothing more than a gimmick in previous recent Chinese action movies, he delivers with an explosive fight versus Yen.

However, he’s just part of the fun, as the movie also debuts Jin Zhang’s Master Z character, who went on to have his own extremely brilliant spin-off.

2. Everly

  • Director: Joe Lynch
  • Star casts: Salma Hayek, Hiroyuki Watanabe, Laura Cepeda And Togo Igawa
  • IMDb ratings: 5.1

Salma Hayek does the Die Hard thing in an apartment complex for 90 minutes in Everly. It employs Christmas tunes cynically throughout its runtime and gives its protagonist an even stronger personal motivation.

It’s more polished than a typical grindhouse movie, with tremendous action and Hayek in the major role.

3. No Escape

  • Director: John Erick Dowdle
  • Star casts: Lake Bell, Pierce Brosnan, Owen Wilson, and Thanawut Ketsaro
  • IMDb ratings: 6.7

This is one of 2015 best action movies. The sequence in which Wilson tosses his infant across an alleyway from one rooftop to the next is worth seeing on its own.

However, the movie also has some violent, gory action as a family battles their way beyond the grasp of an enraged crowd bent on their destruction.

The movie, like Gerard Butler’s Has Fallen franchise, delivers kindness. It was done while completely embracing the Cannon Films aesthetic of depicting the mean-spirited depravity of violence and humanity’s willingness to do awful things to each other.

The carnage has a combination of desperation, dread, and wrath, which lifts the pleasures above simply sight candy. It’s action-packed with thrills and catharsis, which is more than enough cause to settle in for some genre fun.

4. Kingsman: The Secret Service

  • Director: Matthew Vaughn
  • Star casts: Collin Firth, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Caine
  • IMDb ratings: 7.7

The Secret Service of Kingsman comes out of nowhere. It was released on Valentine’s Day as a counter-programming to the first Fifty Shades movies, and it looked like a goofy espionage movie.

Kingsman: The Secret Service turns out to be a brilliant parody of espionage movies that works almost as well as an action movie as it does as a comedy.

It was directed by Matthew Vaughn, who did something similar to superhero movies a few years before with Kick-Ass. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s also a lot smarter than you may imagine.

5. Spy

  • Director: Paul Feig
  • Star casts: Melissa Mccarthy, Rose Byrne, Jude Law, and Jason Statham
  • IMDb ratings: 7.0

This is one of 2015 best action movies. The movie has plenty of jokes and subtle satire on the action genre provided by Jason Statham’s depiction of a super agent.

Rick Ford is more than enough to please; the movie also goes the additional mile in generating some genuinely spectacular and tremendously enjoyable action scenes.

The picture is full of energy and brilliance, with fights, gun battles, and enormous stunts that leave you applauding, smiling, and wondering when Feig, McCarthy, and Statham would produce a sequel.

6. The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

  • Director: Guy Ritchie
  • Star casts: Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Debicki
  • IMDb ratings: 7.2

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is one of 2015 best action movies, however, it falls short in both the first and final categories.

It’s initially and mainly an espionage movie, with some action and comedy thrown in for good measure. It stars Henry Cavill, Alicia Vikander, Armie Hammer, and Elizabeth Debicki, and it looks and feels like it was created in the 1960s – which is appropriate given that it’s based on a 1960s TV show. It has a nice aesthetic to it, but it’s just a load of empty fun.

7. SPL II: A Time for Consequences

  • Director: Soi Cheang
  • Star casts: Tony Jaa, Jing Wu, Simon Yam, and Jin Zhang
  • IMDb ratings: 6.7

The SPL trilogy is unique in that the movies are completely unconnected but for a few common themes and cast members.

While the original from 2005 remains the greatest of the group, its sequel is nearly as brilliant. The three action leads are Tony Jaa, Wu Jing, and Zhang Jin, and they deliver big time.

Also, the jail battle is a classic, and the three characters use a variety of combat tactics to keep things exciting and very intriguing throughout.

8. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

  • Director: Christopher McQuarrie
  • Star casts: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner, and Simon Pegg
  • IMDb ratings:7.4

It’s among the 2015 best action movies. It’s now twenty-three years old and possibly stinker-free over its six installments.

Christopher McQuarrie made his directorial debut with Rogue Nation, and the result is perhaps the greatest in the series.

It also combines a familiar tale with magnificent cinematography, a superb supporting cast, and enough very memorable action sequences for a half dozen lesser action pictures.

Few people can equal Cruise’s combination of ability, devotion, and craziness as he hangs outside a cargo jet as it takes off. Also, it’s a mix that continues to be the bread and butter of this huge and hilarious series.

9. Furious 7

  • Director: James Wan
  • Star casts: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham
  • IMDb ratings: 7.1

The Fast and Furious franchise has traveled an unusual journey. What began as a tight-knit drag racing drama evolved into a magnificent set-piece performance.

Fast Five went off full steam ahead as a showcase for outrageous, ever-escalating action pieces interspersed with fistfights, one-liners, and family after Justin Lin nailed down the ideal framework.

Underneath all the explosions and bald heads and large muscles, and balder heads and bigger muscles, there’s a romanticism toward Dominic Toretto’s “family” of companions that makes the franchise so enjoyable to revisit.

Also, Family was most important in Furious 7, which lost Paul Walker in the middle of filming due to his unexpected death.

10. American Ultra

  • Director: Nima Nourizadeh
  • Star casts: Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Connie Britton, and John Leguizamo
  • IMDb ratings: 6.1

The biggest surprise of the year might be American Ultra. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mike. He is a constantly stoned convenience store worker who is more or less pleased with his position in life owing to his kind-hearted and unfailingly patient girlfriend, Phoebe (Kristen Stewart).

Mike wants to propose to her, take her on vacation, and give her the better life he believes she deserves, but he can’t get over his severe fear.

That’s because it’s not anxiety that’s causing the problem but rather government indoctrination. Mike is a Jason Bourne-style secret agent who has no recollection of his extraordinary abilities.

However, when a corrupt government official (Topher Grace) orders the “elimination” of Mike’s program (and Mike with it), the stoner couple is thrown into chaos.

11. Mad Max: Fury Road

  • Director: George Miller
  • Star casts: Tom Hardy, Brendan McCarthy, and Nick Lathouris
  • IMDb ratings: 8.1

George Miller’s return to the wasteland is a cinematic classic of action-driven narrative. It’s a visceral rock-and-roll assault of mechanical marvel and technical expertise, supported by a pitch-perfect ensemble of performers and a message worth hearing. Miller buckles you in and takes you on a trip of a lifetime.

He follows Tom Hardy’s Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron’s immediately legendary Imperator Furiosa on their campaign to liberate Immortan Joe’s “women” from a life of sexual enslavement.

Furiosa is a fantastic character creation of blazing wrath and incredible sensitivity. Also, her enemy companionship with Max is a bond earned and formed in front of human eyes on the screen and deserves special consideration.

When they fight, you think they’re battling to the death, and when they unify, you think they’ll fight just as hard for one another.

Every stunning scene piece in the film has the same sense of urgency and desperation because it characterizes the existence of each character who lives in this environment.

12. Antman

  • Director: Peyton Reed
  • Star casts: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Corey Stoll
  • IMDb ratings: 7.3

Ant-Man is one of Marvel’s funniest movies, owing in no little part to comedy’s dependable ace-in-the-hole Paul Rudd (and a large assist from Michael Pena).

However, that doesn’t stop it from delivering action alongside the laughs, frequently in the same sequence.

Rudd plays an ex-con hired by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to don the Ant-Man suit and stop Pym’s insane ex-protegee Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) from exploiting the shrinking technology for bad purposes.

13. Creed

  • Director: Ryan Coogler
  • Star casts: Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson
  • IMDb ratings: 7.6

Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never met his legendary father, Apollo Creed, who died before he was born.

Still, boxing is in his blood, so Adonis travels to Philadelphia, the location of Apollo Creed’s famed battle with a fierce upstart named Rocky Balboa. Adonis hunts out Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) in the City of Brotherly Love and asks him to be his trainer.”

14. Avengers: Age of Ultron

  • Director: Joss Whedon
  • Star casts: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo
  • IMDb ratings: 7.3

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) attempts to revive a dormant peacekeeping program, things go wrong, and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are put to the ultimate test as the destiny of the world hangs in the balance.

As the evil Ultron appears, it is up to The Avengers to prevent him from carrying out his heinous intentions. Also, uncomfortable alliances and unexpected action prepare the way for an epic and a special worldwide adventure.
